Fletcher Cox

Why not?

Contrary to what many of the clairvoyants on this board think, anything is possible.

Dude, you don't need to be clairvoyant...you simply need to have an ounce of common sense. I realize that is a tall order for some.

Anyone other than me think this is our guy tonight? We don't need to trade up. I think we'll be just fine picking where we are... the draft, as we've seen before, is a long day of shooting craps anyway.
I don't see him making it to 14, CM.

Don't forget to add three kids and an addicted mother.

:lmao:

Good idea. If we also drag him into a bar and bust his eye open with a beer bottle, we might be able to get him in the 3rd or 4th round! :laugh2:

..they said the same thing about Dez Bryant.
They were right. We had to trade up to get him.

He's the one player I think it makes sense to move up and get. But not much. He'd have to slide past Carolina to make sense for us. Don't think it will happen, but stranger things have. I'd love him.

Common sense? Really?

Please explain to me the correlation between common sense, probability, statistics, predictability, and actuality. Maybe my limited mental capacity can process it easier if you take the time to explain it in detail.

Anyone live in his hometown? :D

Are you just throwing words out there to make yourself sound smarter? Pass rushers are highly coveted, even more so today because of the success that the Giants have had. Fletcher Cox is the best interior defensive lineman in this draft -- he is athletic, he is big, he is active. He can pressure the QB from inside, which can be incredibly disruptive to a passing game. There are any number of teams that draft before us who desperately need defensive line help.

Was that so hard?

Wow! You so smart! I should have never spent all that mony on an Ivy League edumacation. I will sleep better at night knowing that I can count on you to teach me basic common sense!

I'm in Commanders territory.. The Cox and Romo jokes would annoy me..

Perhaps I am jumping the gun a bit on Cox. Your reasoning makes sense. But perhaps we do trade up to get him; it's probably the only problem with my OP because that's the one thing I went out on a limb on--not Cox's talent.

Anyone think we actually trade up for this guy?

I really have no idea where you're going with any of this. Are you suggesting that common sense is not useful? You don't think my points are valid?

Please explain to me why you think he WILL be there at 14. Common sense isn't the enemy, boy. Ignorance is.

OK. You lost my respect there.

And you just proved yours. Nice going!

Yeah. Here's the thing, I was never trying to earn your respect in the first place. Besides, when this guy starts throwing out totally tired, overplayed terms like "edumacation," I'm using common sense when I draw the conclusion that he has the intellect of a 10-year old boy.

Back on topic...

The likelihood of Cox being available at 14 is limited but there is still a mathematical probability that he drops to the Cowboys. The greatest factor, and most unpredictable, is the value each team has placed on a candidate based on need.

I think there is a chance, albeit slim, he is there.

There is a slim chance he is there...but it is also a mathematical probability that he is there? You managed to completely contradict yourself in the span of one post. Good job. As I suggested, you're throwing terms out there to make yourself sound smart. But when you use them incorrectly, it has the opposite effect.

This was my initial logic as well.
