They were undefeated and found a way to win the ACC CG with the 3rd string QB.
They then had 20 players opt out of the bowl game in which they were blasted to smithereens.

Make no mistake this would have never happened had the SEC champion not lost a home non-conf game. But the powers that be couldn't promote Georgia over Bama and wasn't going to present a CFP without an SEC school.
So FSU got jobbed.

With a 3rd string QB were they a top 4 team? Probably not. But if you don't credit an undefeated P4 season than stop even bothering to host games and just name your 8-12 teams and skip the season.
Had that been Bama who was undefeated and down to QB3 they would have been a 1 seed.

The more you devalue what happens on the field, the more of a farce it becomes. I remember way back in 1977 Lou Holtz suspended several key players before the Oklahoma bowl game. Under this scenario so many want, they would have not been chosen for that bowl because of this had the suspensions happened before. Yet Minnesota kicked the crap out of Oklahoma in that game.

fact is FSU ON THE FIELD deserved a slot. Ignoring results on the field is unforgiveable. Look at all the upsets over the years; teams given no chance and winning.

No I'm not buying any of that. Georgia had more projected players in the top 100 then FSU so there was no disadvantage on draft players sitting out. Most of the players that were transferring were players that weren't projected to start next year so they're not even starting regardless.

What preceded the next two games further pushes the narrative that no they weren't a top 4 team. History is not going to gravitate towards that

No, they did get robbed. That is clear.
Nothing that happened on the FIELD prior to the selection should warrant leaving them out except overruling the games themselves.
They got blasted because 20 kids sat out the Bowl game.
The SEC cries when 7 kids sit out and they get beat by a G5 team in a Bowl game.
FSU had 20 kids sit out.

Were they a top 4 team down 2 QBs? Almost certainly not but I guarantee you if that happened to ANYONE's school they would be livid.
Again, this wasn't complicated.
UT beat Bama ta Bama and thye4 couldn't put in Bama over Texas to they put them both in.
The only team that could pull in that scenario was FSU with the injury out.

It was very wrong but they were never dumping the SEC champ even if Georgia was a better all-around team and probably would have won the whole thing.
They let the 3-point win carry the day and then punked FSU for it.

You and Tuss can keep giving each other fever dream happy endings, but it won't change that FSU beat LSU by 21, then beat another SEC Team by 9 all while beating Clemson, Miami and then winning the ACC Championship by 10 points (WITHOUT the star QB).
They were a top 5 defense even without the QB.

But they lost a ton of players before the Bowl game and were overrated coming into 2024. They cannot stop a cold along that DL and the QB they added was the definition of mid. Probably not even top1 0 amongst transfer QBs.

USC lost Caleb Williams and got better. How?? Because it is literally a new year.....
