T-U 2: Cowboys don't deserve extra attention

Just about every NFL game can be seen on TV these days (except, ironically, the games on the league’s NFL Network), so it’s no big deal that some teams receive more national exposure than others.
But really, did the NFL, which released its 2009 schedule earlier this week, have to give the Dallas Cowboys six nationally televised prime-time games this season?
“America’s Team” will be featured on Sunday night (three times), Monday night, and even Saturday night, along with its traditional Thanksgiving slot, in addition to a handful of 4:15 p.m. games.
Each year, the NFL gives more national exposure to teams with playoff success and less to teams that fall short. The consistent exception is the Cowboys, who haven’t won a playoff game in 13 years, yet remain the staple of the TV schedule year after year.
Clearly, the Cowboys have a lot of national fans and draw ratings. They’ll also be playing in a new stadium this year. Nobody is saying they shouldn’t be given prime-time slots. But please, not every week.
The NFL likes to promote parity on the field. How about just a little on the airwaves.

When will these people get it? It's not about parity on the airwaves. It's about moolah. Cowboys = Ratings. Ratings = Moolah.
