People forget the Campo years, when all our games were on Sunday at noon and we never saw Monday Night Football.

What Chet Really Wanted To Say: "It's a big deal to me that the Dallas Cowboys will receive more national television exposure than my own team because they are not as popular and that just grinds my gears."
What Chet Really Wanted To Say: "I don't care that the NFL is promoting its most popular franchise to further its position as the premier professional team sport in America. I like my franchise just as much and that just grinds my gears."
What Chet Really Wanted To Say: "The chances are that one of my team's games may get preempted by a re-broadcasting of Heidi. My team's just not as popular as Dallas and you know what? That just grinds my gears."
What Chet Really Wanted To Say: My team has done more in the playoffs than the Cowboys for this amount of years and the NFL is telling me that my team sucks more than them??? Well! That just about grinds my gears!"
What Chet Really Wanted To Say: "I know! I know! I know! Six weeks doesn't equal 17 weeks! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Dallas' new stadium will be all that and then some! SURE! There are boatloads of Cowboys fans that the networks wish to showcase their commercials to and line the NFL's pockets with globs of cash, but golly gee wiz! It's just... I don't know!!! It really grinds my gears!!!"
What Chet Really Wanted To Say: My favorite franchise will never have a chance in hell of being more popular than the Dallas Cowboys. Can you please... pretty please... show my team's games during primetime just as much? If you'll do that for me, Mr. Goodell, I promise never to write another useless, petty article about this ever again. Scout's honor!

Rats! I know what you would say to that and **** it, that just grinds my gears!!!!!!"

this is the sort of thing that makes me love the Cowboys that much more! haha

But from another angle: Those 6 nationally televised games are also what makes playing in/for Dallas (IMO) one of the toughest jobs in all of sports. Win or lose, people love/hate the Cowboys so much that there will always be a spot light shining on big D.

Boyzmamasita's right... it's about the $$ and in that aspect, Dallas is to football what the Yankees are to baseball or the Lakers are to basketball. They're the big draw...Fussman's article is nothing more than sour grapes.
