Said it before, but there seems to be a cottage industry now of people who care more about players extracting every cent possible from those evil owners than about the sport or the team. I'll never understand that. When I became a huge sports fan as a kid, I never cared about who was making money, players or owners.
I believe this to be the agents who are constantly in the players ears, giving them advice (good/bad) in order to get the biggest payday.
I mean who is the one person that is there from the college days to the pros telling them where the money is?
The HBO series Ballers was a good insight to how it works. If I’m not mistaken Richard Mendenhall was one of the writers.
