Flozel to OG?

I'm not saying we have the replacement on the team right now but instead of all the hollering about getting a FA high priced WR or other skill position I think it is in the better interest to get a quality OT. I think many of the problems started at the line of scrimmage, when I see other QB's getting the time to find not 1 or 2 option but 3 option and then see Romo running for his life I know that has to change. We get after Romo because of the turnovers yet most turnovers happen when the QB is under extream pressure from the defense Romo is no different.

I wanted us to draft Marcus McNeil a few years ago but we opted for a TE we didn't need instead (thanks Bill). We have had a terrible lack of success in drafting OLs since Gurode was selected in 2002.

Dominated? This has not been the 1st year Flo has had issue with picking up speed rushers and yes the offsides is hurting as playes are being brought back only to regain the yards we just lost and it happens every single game. As for being deaf I'm sorry but I'm sick and tired of seeing him jump offside regardless of the excuses it has to stop.

Yeah? You don't want to discuss when he held Michael Strahan not only without a sack, but without a single stat Dec. 3rd 2006? Flozell plays in the NFC East. How many great pass rushers does he face? Strahan, Tuck, Osi, Cole, Kiwanuka, and he is usually high up on the list of lowest sack totals. I will take three to five false starts instead of three to five more sacks a season. At least it's only five yards and not 9-15 yards and at least my QB didn't get slammed by 270lbs running full speed.

I mean ok, he isn't Walter Jones in his prime, but he if a hell of a lot better than most left and even right tackles in the league.

You said this isn't his first year? Flo has been solid most of his career. I'm not sure where you are getting his has been a second rate LT during his career. That simply isn't true.

I don't disagree with you but you don't stop drafting a position because you did not have success before. You also do not stop looking at FA if need be.

Everyone loves the skill players and wants them but to me it all starts up front with protection and opening up holes.

I'm not down on Flo I just think if we have the oppertunity to upgrade along the Oline this is an area I would like to see upgraded.

If we can do this then moving Flo from the outside to the inside then would be a good option in my view.

Strahan is not what I would call a speed rusher, Yes Flo handles the bigger outside rushers very well but has problems with outside speed rusher many of them blowing by him like he was standing still.

I don't suggest we replace Flo with some slug but if we can upgrade that position then I feel we should. If you don't well that is your view. I never said mine was the only view point.

Why? He is a pro bowl level tackle. What the hell is wrong with you people. Ever heard of the term, if it's not broken DON'T FIX IT. Who do you want to play ****ing tackle? McQuistan? :bang2:

Flozell graded out as the 27th tackle in the league. He also lead the league in penalties. There is no way he should have been anywhere near the pro bowl. Its a joke and disgrace he was there.

Flozell played like crap all year long, and he is ancient anwyway. Time to look for his replacement.

Strahan is a speed rusher. Actually he has all the tools as a pass rusher. You don't break the 20 sack barrier with only a bullrush technique.

So name for me the FA LT that is available this year that is an upgrade over Adams...

My point about the draft is that we have sucked at it when it comes to OLs and that needs to improve, not that we should stop drafting them.

My drafting axiom is that you select at least one OL every year on day-1 (well first 3 rounds now). You can never have too much depth on the O-Line and if you find that you do you can always find a trading partner for one of them.

Maybe you should read before you post. Flozell had an arm injury last season. :bang2:

According to who? I've never seen him rated lower than 10th in the league among starting LTs. Do you have a link?

Also, we should have been looking for his replacement for a number of years now. That guy should already be on the team but he isn't.

Flo has consistantly dominated ALL pass rusher except last year when he had the arm / shoulder injury. He has shutdown the best of the best in this league. I'm guessing you mean he has false starts as offensive lineman don't get offsides. Being deaf in one ear is only a partial excuse for that. It still should never happen.

Flo hasn't dominated anything in his career other than the penalty stat.

I do have most of the games of Flos career on tape, and you won't find 10 his whole career that grade out top quality.

Was posted on this board a few weeks ago.

Has this been discussed?

Maybe he can become a newborn like Lenard Davis
Then why did Dallas got out and Montrae Holland? When Holland played instead of Proctor, the 'weaknesses' of Flozell suddenly vanished, including his 'inability' to handle speed rushers.

Sniff, sniff... what's that I smell? Oh, it's an agenda. If you actually believe what you said then I have nothing more to say but that you are blinded by your agenda. :bang2:

Who gives a rats *** what your excuses are? Flo stunk, and has stunk for most of his career.

The team will do MUCH better when they move on from the fat piece of crap.

I'd like to give Flo this year to try and be healthy and have a competent LG next to him to see how much, if any, that he's really fallen off his ability to play LT before people start discussing crazy moves to move him to guard, thus weakening us at two positions at once.

I'm not looking at weaken 2 position but to strengthen 2 position. Flo can and has played guard very effectively. Of course a move should not be made unless you can bring in a very good OT to take over the position.

I understand that but he's not as good a G as he is a tackle, so that's a weaker position for him and then you're also weakening the LT spot unless you know, for sure, you've gotten someone better than him at LT.

Is he better than any of the gaurds we have on that side of the line? I think Flo would be an upgrade over Kosier and Holland it would also increase depth on the line should Flo be forced back to tackle due to injury. It would require going after a FA tackle one of the tops on the market is Jordan Gross from Carolina who is a FA.

It seems to me that when Proctor was in, Flozell was worrying too much about what was happening on his right side, and that is why he got beat be speed rushers. Adams got caught looking over his right shoulder while speed rushers kept whizzing by him. Like I said, when Holland came in, we didn't here Adams name called once, because he was doing his job.

I am not a fan of moving people around. If you need a LT, get one, you need a safety, get one. Don't move people around who have played their whole career at one position. It's a crap shoot.
