With Kennard at center, that was the beginning of the end. Actually our domanence across the front started to decline before that IMO. But it was god enough to still win a super bowl based largely on the talent of Larry Brown or Neil O'Donnell depending your perspective.

Adams a top 5 LT?

LOL. The only way Adams sniffs top 5 is if he walks up to Walter Jones and huffing in Jones' body order.

Who are the top 5 LT's in the league then?

Gurode actually is not bad in space-just not all that good. That was one of his drawbacks as a guard. Really, its not that important for a center to do more then snap the ball, get the initial block, make the right call as regards the assignment. If he does that well then any more is real gravy.

How can I say this politely? I vehemently disagree.

Name 5 LTs that are better than Flozell in the league, then.

The talented linemen is set for a huge year.

Says who? Based on what? Wishful thinking?

He is one of many Cowboys players glad that the Tuna has left.

Ha! Another player blaming his deficiencies on Parcells. Classic. P.S. Flo is always surly. Wade will make no difference.

Fans like me have been happy since the day the Tuna retired. It is a matter of turning the players loose, to score on offense, and to make plays on defense. The Tuna had everyone too reigned in.

Since when are offensive linemen "turned loose"? Those guys are all about timing and teamwork, not "doing your own thing."

One of the areas that really hurt is the OL. The too predictable offense really put the OL to the test. When you are pass blocking when everyone knows you are passing, and run blocking when everyone knows you are running, play after play, that is work.

Our offense was not predictable last year. The vanilla schemes on defense were. Just ask that Detroit qb.

The Cowboys line is huge, athletic and deep.

They were last year too, minus Davis. So what went wrong? You can't lay it all at Rivera's feet.

Adams is a top 5 NFL LT.

NFC, maybe. If completely healthy.

Gurode is an allstar

No, he was an injury replacement. Big difference. Get your Cowboy thumb off the scale.

Just imagine, the Cowboys OL could be Totaly Awesome.

Jeez, how old are you? Who talks like that? Valley girls from the 80s?

Opposing defenders will be floating around like refugees on rafts. Cowboys players will be zipping around in Go Fast Boats.

Whatever you say, champ. I have no idea what the purpose of this thread was other than to boost Flo's self-esteem.

Here are a few nice Gurode clips for you. These are just from the first half of the Seattle game. And don't say he just had a bad first half or a bad game, because this type of play happens week in and week out.

Where did you get clips from the Seattle game? I've been looking for that game for a long time. I wanted to remind myself of the rest of the game, because The Bobble seemed to have made me forget about the rest, and it's frustrating me.

Seems to need to find the ability to lock on to a defender and keep them in front, without getting done for holding.
Had pretty good drive of the line in most of the plays.
The blocking scheme broke down in pass through the middle all last year and im not sure wether it was Gurode or Rivera or Kosier or a combination

Wasn't it last year's line that ran out the clock on Indy? Or put the game away against Atlanta? I think they had the capability last year, but were inconsistent. This line should be pretty good with a healthy Flo and Bigg. The only player I worry about is Andre Gurode.
I would agree with that. He has got the "least to worry about, and is the biggest candidate to get lazy in my eyes. The other three are working on that next contract, while Bigg has to prove he is better than his time in AZ.

It will be interesting to see guys like Gurode and how they handle being under wade vs BP. Gurode made the Pro Bowl and was a pretty legitimate pick as well. Some people fixate on certain things and claim that makes a player not worth anything. Tunnel vision can be pretty blinding.

This is meaningless. Don't fixate on this. Fixate on his play on the field, which wasn't that great.

so YOU say.
Watch the clip. I'm putting together a season long clip soon. You can ignore my opinion, but don't ignore what happens on the field.

Against playoff teams we scored 19 points per game.

Every team has their PPG skewed against non-playoff teams. You'd have to compare our PPG against only playoff teams to every other teams PPG against only playoff teams. I get the feeling 19 PPG would be pretty close to the top in that case.

In case you guys were wondering,
Chargers: 20 ppg against playoff teams
Patriots: 18.75 ppg against playoff teams
