Fluker at 11. Pugh at 19. Long at 20.

And yet the highest rated center would be available at 47? Come on people.

Don't inject logic into this. You'll confuse people

Listen, for the record, I would have stayed put and drafted Floyd. But the people jumping off the cliff about us drafting the highest rated center and picking up a third are being ridiculous.

Begin? :)

Tonight, though, I think people have a right to complain. This didn't turn out well for us, even if the player makes the move look better in retrospect. Plus, it's demoralizing to have a guy fall to us and have us move back and get a reach that nobody anticipated.

frederick would have been gone ealry 2nd if not at 32 to the Ravens. Jerry could have taken Justin Hunter who ESPN has ranked 24th and people would have been mad about that too, and the same people would have been yelling, "Jerry never takes OL in the first."

Now he does what most people on here wanted him to do and draft a OL in the first and he gets bashed, lose lose with some people.

I would've gone Warford, personally. But I see Frederick as a legitimate starting OL in the NFL. More so at G than C, but quite frankly, he could beat out at least two of: Livings, Costa and Bernadeau.

I still wish we got a better trade down, but I don't get the hate on Frederick.

I felt he would have a a better career then Pugh, who will never amount to more then a guard himself.

Mayock has him as a third rounder? How is Justin Pugh a first rounder? I see his last mock had them going the giants, so I see why he isn't critical of the pick, but I don't see the value difference myself.

Tonight couldnt have gone any worse. First Balke absolutely schools the FO in a trade. Then FO decides to draft for need instead of talent. Then a colossal reach for a player. All that is left is trading a future one for a second tomorrow.

Most people wanted him to take a good OL with the first pick not reach for someone who looks average at best and we probably could have had with our 2nd

If we would have drafted Pugh or long, you would have spewed the same "we could have had him in the second" nonsense.

If this stops the center of the line being pushed back in Romo's face every play then I am glad for the pick.

Fix the o-line. Tired of scrubs and castoffs making Tony run for his life.

Everyone is frustrated. Don't be surprised if fans turn on fans in their frustration. Clearly it's your fault that we drafted a late 2nd/early 3rd rounder in the first round after trading down in the 1st. Who else could be responsible?

all the top OL were gone by 18, also Frederick IMO wasn't a reach. I had him as a very early 2nd rounder. I don't know anyone else we could have drafted that could help this team more day one.

Yes, the Giants and Bears reaching doesn't make our reach any less of a reach

There was a run on offensive linemen. We needed to upgrade offensive line drastically, and didn't want to risk him being gone.

It is what it is. We couldn't come out of the first round with all the 1st-2nd round graded linemen gone.

At some point, if multiple NFL teams are reaching for players at the same positions, perhaps it's the predraft ranking that undervalued the players/positions to begin with.

I always smile when, every single year, people talk about reaching for QBs. They're not reaching. QBs just get undervalued for whatever reason by draft projections. They're hard to find, and their value is whatever they end up getting picked at, by definition.

yes it does. it shows a trend existed, it wasn't a reach, it was following a pattern.
