Flozell did have quicker feet. Of more concern is the fact he was a lot stronger. I was a big fan of Fluker a couple of weeks ago. But now he just reminds me of a large tub butt who uses his weight OK. Good player, though. I just can't figure out if he's a sure shot though, which causes me concern.

I really like Fluker.he has some physical limitations but he has huge wingspan and should be a good RT but i dont think he will be there at 18 anyway.

Fluker has a much more violent punch and more physical game in comparison to Flozell. They may be similar physically, but Fluker plays with much more aggression. Fluker's temperament has been compared to Erik Williams.

The knock on Flozell was his hearing. That's why he dropped out of the first into the second. He was deaf in one ear. I don't remember his feet ever being in question. There are plenty of people who think Fluker doesn't have the feet necessary for a tackle including RT. I haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion so I'm just regurgitating what's out there.

Here's him in the AL Mich game; you judge his feet:

His feet are too slow for me although granted that's isolated plays from one game. He can plow though.

combine tests frankly do not show foot speed very well. In drills you can see it but not measure it. The Hotel had very quick feet for his size; which was sometimes very surprising to see.

Fluker may be more aggressive but otherwise the Hotel was superior in just about every way

horrible comparison IMO- Flo was stronger and had better feet. Flo also played a ton a LT at Michigan State. With the pass rushers in this league only getting faster, I dont see how you can make Fluker and LT as several outlets have recently suggested.

I agree Twizz too many think he will be a good tackle, but he is not a good pass blocker.

The dude can seriously run block. Vince Lombardi would've loved him. I worry about him dropping back in pass protection 40 times a game against NFL DE's/OLB's.

Fluker strikes me as one of those guys who needs a couple of years in a Pro training/program before he should start...

I think you're right about that but just at tackle. He could start at OG and be dominant. He's down to 334 now. With training, he could pick up his agility. Strength is not at all an issue with this man. Remember, he shut out Mingo who runs 4.5 and is the most agile among OLB. He deserves late 1st round early 2nd round consideration.

I saw that someone said Flozell had quicker feet but that's hooey. They are very comparable:

Adam Flozell 1998 2nd round pick
RT
6-7
326
40 yd: 5.47
28 reps on Bench
arm length: 36 1/2 inches

DJ Fluker
RT
6-45
339
40: 5:31
21 reps on Bench
arm length: 36 3/4 inches
I'm not certain that those numbers for Flozell are accurate. I do seem to recall that he had a leg injury going into the combine. If he really weighed in a 326 at the combine, he must have been on a crash diet. I don't think he played a down in his final year at Michigan State or at any time with the Cowboys under 335 lbs.

In regards to Fluker, his forty time was not great and it was not terrible; however, if you compare him to some other players you'll see that a guy like Jordon Mills ran a slower forty (5.37 vs 5.31) but a faster 10-yard split (1.77 vs 1.83). It is interesting that Fluker didn't perform the 3-cone or short-shuttle drills.

On a final note, Flozell played Left Tackle in the NFL against some really good pass-rushers. Are there any draft analysts that think Fluker can play Left Tackle?

Lest we forget LT Flozel Adams was a mid 2nd round selection.

Yes, that would be a much better spot for Fluker than mid first round.

Flo was a better athlete, for sure. I like Fluker. He is more of a classic RT mauler. I won't cry over the Cowboys selecting Fluker.

I love Fluker, but he definitely has heavy feet and doesn't appear to be the type of OL we want here. I wish he were, because he does remind me of Erik Williams

What do you think the shuttle is supposed to measure?

If Flozell was not half deaf he would have been a 1st rounder.

Flozel was a RT 90% of his last season and not a LT. You're mistaken.
