Fluker has a much more violent punch and more physical game in comparison to Flozell. They may be similar physically, but Fluker plays with much more aggression. Fluker's temperament has been compared to Erik Williams.

I could live with that.

horrible comparison IMO- Flo was stronger and had better feet. Flo also played a ton a LT at Michigan State. With the pass rushers in this league only getting faster, I dont see how you can make Fluker and LT as several outlets have recently suggested.

You waited 3 or so years for your first post. Don't wait another 3 please.

I can look at Fluker and tell you he doesn't have Flozell's first step glide into pass protection nor the quickness to slide and maintain control like Adams. Many think he's a NFL G but I don't like him in our system. He's not mobile enough and capable of blocking well in space. He's a heck of a mauler though. I love his strength and tenacity. He'll fit someone's system and be good.

Fluker is not a good fit for our offense.

I know physically he seems a bit like Big E and Flo but while both of those guys were not fast they both had excellent footwork and were fairly light on their feet. Fluker always looks like he is laboring anytime he has to move his feet. He looks so stiff when he is out there pass blocking. I really believe he is a huge liability in anything except a run dominant power blocking scheme. He might fit in okay with Minnesota or Tennessee.

You can project him to OG but I don't think he has the footwork or quickness that we are looking for there. He is also kind of on the tall side for a Guard and I don't know how well he'd root out those 6-3 315 pound DTs that he'll be facing on a regular basis.

I think he is a player but not a first rounder in the modern NFL. He just has too many limitations as a pass blocker.

You could very well be correct but the Cowboys must think differently as they have shown some interest in Fluker (and Warmack as well, another player many seem to feel does not fit our scheme).

Also, people forget that Callahan does not play a strict zone blocking scheme, he mixes it up with power man scheme. The intangible that Fluker brings that is sorely missing from the current Cowboys OL is nastiness and physicality. Fluker brings both, in bountiful supply.

Fluker is my type of lineman, massive, strong and mean. He will be just fine in a power offense. It seems like Dallas wants to get away from power football and go to more of a finesse offense. I hate to see the change because I will have to watch the 49ers or Ravens to see good power football.

Adams had much better kick step and feet in pass pro, alsodams was a second round pick. No way today would I take Adams at 18 much less fluker.

You are overlooking just how good Adams was. These over-hyped tackles in this draft has alot to prove before they will equal Adams career. I would draft him at 18 and be happy about it.

U r overlooking what he was in college and what he became. Flozell dropped weight- 10 pounds by the senior bowl. Worked on getting faster, more agile. 5:47 40. Fluker is marked at 5.31 and 5.28. Thats a huge difference.

What do you think the shuttle is supposed to measure?

well why don't you talk to some scouts and coaches. They will tell you that you are wrong about the shuttle telling all that much about footspeed.

Fluker might make an okay tackle, but he might end up being Carl Nicks at guard.

Fluker is not Adams coming out of Michigan St. Adams was not what I would consider a quick OT but he was quicker then Fluker is. Fluker takes forever to get out of his stance when pass blocking. I would not say that Adams had quick feet but I would say that his reaction out of his stance was tremendous. He could get out of his 3 point stance and get his hands on you very quickly. If he could get his hands on you, you were done. That's how he played OT. Fluker is like him in the fact that if he can get his hands on you, he will neutralize you but he does not have the ability to come out of his 3 point stance and get in position to pass block quickly at all.

I seriously question if Fluker will be able to play tackle in the NFL. If so, he will never be a LT and he will struggle with any quick pass rusher on the right side.

He may end up being a Guard and at 6'4", his height will not be a problem there.

Flozel was a RT 90% of his last season and not a LT. You're mistaken.

Part of the problem was he had a hard time picking up snap counts from the left side of the line because he was deaf in his left ear. That was the reason he was projected as more of right tackle because of hearing issues, given college stadiums are bigger and louder than NFL standiums.

I'm not certain that those numbers for Flozell are accurate. I do seem to recall that he had a leg injury going into the combine. If he really weighed in a 326 at the combine, he must have been on a crash diet. I don't think he played a down in his final year at Michigan State or at any time with the Cowboys under 335 lbs.

In regards to Fluker, his forty time was not great and it was not terrible; however, if you compare him to some other players you'll see that a guy like Jordon Mills ran a slower forty (5.37 vs 5.31) but a faster 10-yard split (1.77 vs 1.83). It is interesting that Fluker didn't perform the 3-cone or short-shuttle drills.

On a final note, Flozell played Left Tackle in the NFL against some really good pass-rushers. Are there any draft analysts that think Fluker can play Left Tackle?

I don't know of any but that's not an exhaustive search. I'm convinced the consensus is he is not a LT and likely not a RT but a G and that for teams that don't require an athletic mobile one.
