Which is why they are terrible in free agency year after year. They cannot accept that players on the market are simply a better investment sometimes than the players he drafted. He has too much ego to be a good GM. A good GM can recognize that they are not going to bat 1.000 and will use free agency to sign the players that other teams found and to correct the mistakes they made in the draft. Jerry would rather wait around for the cheap free agents so that he can again try and prove he is smarter than the rest of the NFL and that the cheap FA he finds is actually high value.

been hoping both Jerry and Stephen crash helicopter and we hear it on the news....i know that is terrible to say....where is my love for mankind?....GORICO why do you wish cowboys win at the cost of human

lives???......because Jerry and Stephen are so poor at their job of building winning teams i want them out of there.....dont worry i am calling psychiatrist to make an appointment....you all may not be seeing me

for couple months or maybe years....they may lock me up in looney bin

I think he is OK with letting the Rams repeat because he was the most important piece to the puzzle to make the move to LA. Booger has even said he feels partially responsible for their success, such is the man's ego.

I don't think Dallas has ever had a rebuilding year under Jerry Jones. They might have had some down years but I have never seen them go into full rebuild. One could argue Jimmy's first year was a rebuild but I think the change in ownership largely negates that.

I do agree this season feels different. They never like to spend money on free agents, but this year they are being extra stubborn about filling the holes in their roster. It almost feels like they are satisfied with a losing season in 2022.

Maybe they are looking for an excuses to make big moves next year. Maybe a losing season gives them the justification to dump McCarthy and hire Sean Peyton. Or maybe a losing season justifies cutting Zeke. Maybe they want to renegotiate Dak's deal next year. I don't know what it is, but the issues facing Dallas have faced them since they dumped players in the offseason and did not make a serious attempt to find adequate replacements.

+1....strange all I can say

Its the ONLY explanation. There is no way they can expect to seriously compete for anything of significance with the way they are handling this team.

Why pay a QB 40 million if you arent going to protect him? Why pay a RB 15 million if you cant block for him?

There is no plan to tank, every year becomes more and more important to Jerry. If there's no LT being signed it's 1 of 2 things. 1) Either the decision makers are naive in thinking we're well prepared for this or 2) The decision makers and coaches know more than we do and are more confident than a fan judging from their couch.

Lose 1 player to injury, and a player that’s always injured, and Zoners wave the white flag and quit. It’s amazing the number of quitters here.

In the words of @Cowpolk
WWWWWHHHHAAAA,,,
How many starting OL has Brady lost now, I lost track already.
Injuries are part of the game, every team endures them, this is still a talented roster and good team, lets try and stop with the excuses already.

We need two tackles and a guard in next year's draft. If Jerry wants this team to go anywhere he needs to build the best offensive line we've ever had. Because as he says, the team goes as Zeke goes. So give Zeke the OL that will propel him forward.

This poster is notoriously less stable than others. Give him a couple weeks and he’ll make a thread about his rejuvenated hope after the cowboys sign X player whom no one else wanted

“rebuilding year” LOL

when will stupid posters wake up? Never I guess

the Joneses are only interested in being relevant that’s it. Only morons think they’re actually doing what it takes to win a SB

Only a complete moron would think Jerry isnt ultimately trying to win a SB. He just sucks at it.

mr CowboyRoy--- Mike Fisher of the Fisher report accuses Jerry and Stephen of being nothing more than a Marketing company that plays football on the side....when i looked at team through that lens

things begin to make more sense....i put up a thread on just that but no one is responding....when Waletzko went down we should have been scouring for a solid LT replacement....we let Cooper and Collins

go because we dont like them....and now we desperately need a good tackle and good receiver....good teams learn to work with people they may not like....but Jerry and Stephen got so much money

and truly do not care about winning or they would not be constantly pulling the BS they do....because its so obvious...look at La Rams....they know how to move monies around...been to SB 2 of 3 years

and have dynamite team still.....there really is not cap hell....its part of the business of winning....but if your business is to just make money different story

Winning SB's is the best marketing advantage you could ever have. Jerry want to win it all, he just doesnt know how.

We are never rebuilding, nor ever good enough to win it all.

We are stuck in the middle.

But they certainly ACT like they've got this.

The Oline is in a rebuild. The defense is in a rebuild. The WR corps is in a rebuild. And next year the RB position will be in a rebuild.

other teams like KC can rebuild the Oline in one offseason. LOL

Jerry it is going to take 4 years if he is lucky.

I specifically remember a previous discussion where I talked about the cowboys doing a poor job this offseason and being in a soft tank mode.

You then said that’s just what whiny babies who don’t know football say

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/dal...st-offseason-in-the-nfl.496966/#post-11907130

They arent in tank mode and they did a lot of good things this offseason. Getting another starter at OT wasnt one of them. And ultimately the play of the Oline is going to make or break the year.

Jerry clearly doesnt get that. I have always maintained that once Tyron goes down, the season goes in the toilet.

Rebuilding and tanking are two different things.

THIS is where MM is failing. If he agrees with Jerry or cant convince him he is making some big mistakes, then its on him.
