Rather than fixating on whether the offense is more to blame than the defense, I think it might be useful to look at our performances in the first half v the second half thus far this year.

Whereas in past years under JG, we've had a tendency to fall behind and then come back (not always successfully, of course), this year we're generally playing pretty well in the first half and then poorly in the second. I think this is accurate for today's game as well. We flat out won that first half, blemishes and all.

We are outscoring our opponents 40-20 in the first half and being outscored 55-43 in the second. Offensively, it looks about the same but defensively we're pulling a real Jekyl and Hyde routine here.

It's possible that opposing offenses are making adjustments at half time, which we in turn have no answer to.

Thoughts?

Possible? I would say its a fact. We were shut-out in the second half today. San Diego scored 17 unanswered points in the second half. Its like we didn't even come out of the locker room. That falls on the coaches.

Well, there are different reasons teams can turn it around. Some teams are better under pressure, halftime speeches, etc. Making adjustments to the game plan is just one of them. But I suspect that must be what it is.
