I disagree that we need to run so much. Enough to win? Yes. But we saw how much work Dak yet needs in live-game passing situations and we can't just fail to improve in that area. Even if he becomes the backup soon when called upon he'll need to be as sharp as possible.
We've been pretty balanced lately between Elliott and Dak and both of them are handling it better than anyone expected. So far, so good. Being so young, strong and durable helps his cause as well.
The staff has been resting Zeke more than they did earlier in the season. It's undoubtedly aimed at boosting his late-season results. I don't think it'll change unless Zeke shows signs of wearing down. His carries are being monitored somewhat more closely lately as well.
Backup strength at RB isn't likely to be a problem going forward. Morris should continue to afford rest for Elliott. Hopefully, that'll continue with proper caution to avoid having Zeke wear down. If anything, Morris is the one starting to show signs of wearing down. Darius Jackson is also available in the event worse comes to worst. There's a wealth of depth at RB.
