It's funny looking at the responses from those in the DC area (like myself). While all Cowboys fans may hate the Redsk*ns... for those of us who live in Redsk*n country, it's darn near impossible to pull for them under any circumstances.

I can appreciate how a Skins win would help us... but part of me wants to see them kicked while their down and for Campbell to look bad so that light at the end of the tunnel is extinguished.

I can always count on you and Wayne Motley to show some perspective, Danny.:)

Compliment?

By the way, something you'd appreciate: some of the harsher critics in the DC media are starting to turn on Gibbs -- not for his coaching, but for his disingenousness. Steve Czaban who's one of the bigger talking heads around here, out-and-out called Gibbs a "liar" for his answers to the questions being raised about Archuletta.

A lot of people have been critical of Gibbs' coaching this season, but this is the first crack in the "Saint Joe" image that everyone here holds.

I know you consider him to be as big of a phony as I do, so I thought you'd appreciate that.

Danny, did you read Tom Friend's wonderful 'expose' of the Skins defensive coaching organization? Written this week.

If not, it's over a the NFL Zone - A MUST read.

That was my point!!! I could NEVER pull for the Foreskins and thats not being narrow minded. I just want them to lose all the time. Besides, we've beaten Carolina already, they can't hurt us.....

I agree with the thread starter. I hate the skins, but the percentages say Carolina should lose.

honeslty, I dont even care much about the foreskins..They are done. So if they win or lose from now on it doesnt even matter..

New Orleans @ Atlanta: We want Atlanta to win so that both teams are 6-5 instead of the Saints being tied with us at 7-4. A loss would flatten the Saints and Atlanta is too inconsistant to really mount a run, so them winning here isnt anything to worry about.

Carolina @ Washington: In all of our hearts, we want Washignton to get throttled, however Carolina losing is the best thign for Dallas. Washignton is already done and Carolina is probably the third best team in the conference. They would be 6-5 should they fall.

Philly at Indianapolis: Indy, no brainer. Not only makes our win look better, but ends any faint hopes Philly still has.

Arizona @ Minnesota: Arizona has the worst record in football, and Minnesota is technically not out of it. We want Arizona to win, but it doesnt really matter.

Chicago @ New England: Again, no brainer. We still have a faint shot of catching Chicago for home field, but not if they win this game.

New York @ Tennessee: If I have to explain this one, please turn off your TV and never watch another NFL game again. Ever.

San Francisco @ St. Louis: Another game where both teams are goign nowhere, but San Fracisco has a better record and and an easier ending schedule. Go Rams.

Green Bay @ Seattle: Packers are done, Seattle has the same record as us. Hope Brett Farve has a few more miracles up his sleeve
I agree with everything here, and I'll be watching and hoping. Something's going to go our way.

Carolina can hurt our position if they finish with a better record than we do. If we finished with identical records, then yes, we're O.K. As much as it hurts, I'll be a Skin's fan tomorrow. I'm a fan of any team that can help my Boys out.

You should try spending a week in the DC area, then. They're already calling Jason Campbell "our Tony Romo." :puke:

All I want is for the Bears to lose. Just incase there's even a tinsy chance that we could get HF advantage throughout the playoffs. Plus, I hate the bears. Can you say OVERRATED?

Other then that, I don't care.

Agreed. Any Washington win is good for the Cowboys, because the Commanders play alll NFC playoff hopefuls the rest of the way. Plus every 'Skin win equals a lower draft pick for Denver or whomever owns their #1 pick.

Read it???? I printed it out a thousand times and used it to wallpaper the cubicles of all the skins fans in my office! :laugh2:

What a blistering, withering article. If I was a skins fan I'd be tempted to jump off a bridge right about now. Things are bad and only looking worse for the future. The only thing that could make it better is if Campbell starts looking like a bust. They have a lot of hopes pinned on him.

I really gotta laugh when I read "who cares what other teams do"... it directly or indirectly affects us...

I want NY to lose... I dont buy into the "if they lose to Tenn then they will beat us" .... BULL!... Lose to Tenn and then get hammered by us...

We WANT Skins to beat Carolina... hatred for Skins should not cloud your reasoning

Indy should beat the snot outta Eagles... they will take out loss to us on Philly... couldnt happen to a less of a team... excuse me "family football" team

I always love to see the foreskins lose because the ensuing entertainment provided over at ES is golden, but I'd really like to see them beat Carolina. The Skins are done but Carolina is finding their mojo. A Carolina loss further strengthens our playoff cause.

I also actually believe Tennessee has great potential to pull off an upset at home vs. the Gints. They decimated the Eagles last week in Philly, and the Giants are so injury-plagued they're hobbling onto the field. The midgets have so much in-fighting they look like a soap opera, and Eli looks like a deer in headlights. Go Titans.

The Pats should beat the the Bears at home. The Bears have been exposed for what they are recently - a dominant defense with a shaky offense. Sometimes Grossman shows up and they look like the best team in the NFL, then the very next week they'll win by scoring only 10 points. Brady had a monster game last week in Green Bay, so the Pats should handle this one.

Green Bay beating the Seahawks helps us, but the rest of the games are mostly insignificant.

Speaking of ES, where have our troll buddies been? Mossburner, riggo, and redskin1 just to name a few. Those cats have vanished....:laugh2:

Bravo. Astute analysis. You gotta hope for every edge the Cowboys might get.
Yeah, a team standing on its own is heroic. Yet it is little consolation in January if another team edges into the playoffs on a variable that other teams' games determined.

Any and all help from whomever is welcomed.

Nice post HH.

Did you see where Arthur Blank came out and said the Falcons record since mid 2005 is just not acceptable?

I haven't seen a stronger public statement by an owner in a while.

He also pooh-poohed the notion that "what have you done for me lately" ISN'T the way to assess a coach, by saying if 'body of work' is the appropriate way to evaluate a coach, then Dan Reeves, who he loved, would still be there.

Let's see if Mora Jr can translate that message as far down as "Mexico"..he's got a 'coach killer' below AND above him now.

Yeah that's far from the sweetheart job so many of the experts made it out to be a few short years ago. I actually think Mora Jr is a pretty good coach too ... but he's in a no win situation.

His QB is the most overrated player in football but the owner is part of that religious cult that thinks he's the best player in the league. Meanwhile they keep wasting draft picks on receivers thinking they are the problem when the truth is Vick will never allow a wideout to flourish there.

If they are gonna stick with Vick come hell or high water they'd be better served to concentrate their drafts on the defensive side of the ball and let Vick continue running around pretending he's a QB.
