New Orleans @ Atlanta: We want Atlanta to win so that both teams are 6-5 instead of the Saints being tied with us at 7-4. A loss would flatten the Saints and Atlanta is too inconsistant to really mount a run, so them winning here isnt anything to worry about.

Carolina @ Washington: In all of our hearts, we want Washignton to get throttled, however Carolina losing is the best thign for Dallas. Washignton is already done and Carolina is probably the third best team in the conference. They would be 6-5 should they fall.

Philly at Indianapolis: Indy, no brainer. Not only makes our win look better, but ends any faint hopes Philly still has.

Arizona @ Minnesota: Arizona has the worst record in football, and Minnesota is technically not out of it. We want Arizona to win, but it doesnt really matter.

Chicago @ New England: Again, no brainer. We still have a faint shot of catching Chicago for home field, but not if they win this game.

New York @ Tennessee: If I have to explain this one, please turn off your TV and never watch another NFL game again. Ever.

San Francisco @ St. Louis: Another game where both teams are goign nowhere, but San Fracisco has a better record and and an easier ending schedule. Go Rams.

Green Bay @ Seattle: Packers are done, Seattle has the same record as us. Hope Brett Farve has a few more miracles up his sleeve

Thanks for posting this HH31. I was thinking about this earlier...but some beers got in my way to the internet :D
But I agree....especially about rooting against the skins, but this time if they beat the Panthers, would help us more. Even though we hold the tie breaker with them.

Carolina can hurt our position if they finish with a better record than we do. If we finished with identical records, then yes, we're O.K. As much as it hurts, I'll be a Skin's fan tomorrow. I'm a fan of any team that can help my Boys out.

When you lose as we did several times this season you realize that other teams records have a bearing no matter how well you play down the stretch. We have a realistic shot to get into the post season and based on our record we need some teams to lose to be in the optimum position.

The only teams that aren't worried about the winning ways of other teams are the Bears and the Colts. Look at their records. So heavyhitta is well justified in his thinking.

I bet if we lose one or two games before season's end their will be a new enlightment all of a sudden over what the other teams are doing.

I get it HH and agree with your post. It would be nice if we are able to win out and just kick the snot out of everybody we face but I am not looking forward to playing in Chicago in Jan. 2007. If the Bears have one more choke in them I for one would like to see this movie from the beginning to the end. The same goes for Carolina and the Eagles.

No matter what the situation is, I NEVER want the Foreskins to win jack. I hope they get hammered..

Ditto. It's not a conscious decision I make. I've tried rooting for Washington and other teams when it's good for the Cowboys, but it just doesn't work for me. It's not my choice. The game starts and I just feel like I want one team to win over the other. I guess it comes from the heart instead of the head. If that's narrow-minded, so be it.

It's kind of like rooting for the Cowboys to lose in an obvious non-playoff year so we have better draft positon. I've tried. It's just not in me. I know that the outcomes HH outlined are best for the team, but the teams I pull for just don't always fall that way.
