DMAC will be a Cowboy.

Come on just put the pieces together. I dont care what pick Cleveland ends up giving us.

DMAC is a Razorback. Jerry still loves his Razorbacks. You know he watches the kid every week with slobber coming out of Jerry's mouth wishing someday he could wear the star of the Dallas Cowboys.

Jerry Jones would love nothing more than to take the best player coming out in years from his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks.

During the draft Ireland looked at Jerry when they made the trade and said that could be McFadden. They have already been talking about it.

Jerry has clearly expressed he wants JUICE in this offense. Jerry has clearly expressed he is more likely now then ever to move up or bundle. We will have the ammunition.

No way does the player Jerry dreams about when he puts his head on the pillow get away from him. No way!

That explains why we draft so many of them.

Now, if he played for LSU, you might be onto something.

Jerry has no excuse if DMAC doesn't end up being a Cowboy in '08. Even if he has to put those 2 first rounders together to move up to get him.

From my understanding it was Stephen Jones, not Jeff Ireland, that said that during the draft.

I hadn't heard anything about that, interesting.

Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer both were UofA alumnis. And Jones planned on drafting Shawn Andrews a couple of years ago until Philly traded up for him (or atleast I heard he was eyeing him). Clint Stoerner started a couple of games for us. You can't draft a player from your old school every year just because they're from the school.

Let me be the devils advocate. McFadden is 6'2 205lbs. Most great backs are shorter in the 5'9-5'10 range. Though there are several that are over 6'0. Not near as many. Dickerson (6'3), Larry Johnson is (6'1), and O.J Simpson (6'1) where over 6'0. Emmitt Smith, Marshal Faulk, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Tiki Barber, LaDainian Tomlinson, Curtis Martin, Clinton Portis, and even Frank Gore (not proven to be great yet) are all sub 6'0. All but one (Portis 5'11) are 5'10 or less.

Some of you need a dose of reality. Do you really think any team with the first round pick will trade McFadden away? Take a look at the teams that finished at top of the draft this year. No way Oakland trades that pick away; same goes for Detroit. Our best shot is for Cleveland to collapse and play so badly that their first rounder is #1 overall -- which we hold.

I was thinking Jerra would make Nutt an offer to caoch the Boys. Over the years I thought he'd take that super talented QB (name escapes me) in the draft and others from Arkansas.

I think we are seeing the maturation of Jerra, and he's grown out of his Arkansas pride thing and looks at players/coaches strictly as to whom will help the Cowboys the most.

Jerry is the scary X-factor in that. There's no tellin' what he will do, unpredictable at best.;)

Don't forget that after making the trade Stephen Jones pointed out to his dad this possibility.

i attend the university of arkansas. and i'm associated with the athletic program (track and cross country). I've talked to McFadden a few times and seen all of his collegiate games. And in my opinion...Felix Jones is a better NFL running back. McFadden is faster'n hell, but had one move...and thats through a hole and scores, but if there is no hole...he tries to swing outside, now that since he plays in college..alot of times this works, but in the nfl the defense is too quick. He also is TERRIBLE when there is no hole and does not have patience.

That being said, i think Felix Jones is a better overall running back. Much shiftier, gets half as many carries as mcfadden, but he averaged something around 10 yards per carry....THAT IS RIDICULOUS.

So the two things that mcfadden has on jones is: Speed and hands (mcfadden can throw and catch pretty good)

Jones is just a shiftier player who is patient and WILL get you that first down on every other time he touches the ball.

P.S. i'm not from arkansas, i just go to school up here. I'm a Texas boy (just thought i'd throw that in there since the Cowboys are going back to their Texas roots)

Everyone has their price. We may hate it, and Jerry may pull a Ditka, but if DMac has a big year... heisman candidate and all that jazz... I don't think Jerrah will be able to resist.

we will use both our picks to trade up if necessary...he will be a cowboy...book it...and when it happens it's all over for the NFL...we will be potent...we will have an o line...we will have receivers...and a probowl RB...romo wont have to be the man and we will still win
