That’s why I rarely go to game threads anymore
I only go in the preseason game threads… and not much in those.

I learned a long time ago that the game day threads are just full of casual fans that don’t know a whole lot about how to play the game. The X’s and O’s side of things.

I don’t even go into the draft day threads much anymore because the fans are so… well, I just do go anymore.

I remember 10 years ago I had a good talk with a good friend who's also a Cowboy fan. We were scoring 50 points vs the Broncos and losing and I remember saying. I'd do anything to have a team like the Ravens or Steelers...where we just play awesome defense and are just more physical. We both wanted it so bad. We now have it and people want to go back to scoring 50 and losing. Eagle fans on this board are the worst.

People who usually make threads like this, are people who don’t like people who disagree with their opinion.

So what they do is they try to label them or cancel them that is actually today’s sad society.

It is amazing how stupid we have become as a people. More and more post on not just this forum, but the internet in general is littered with football intellectual stupidity. Then add negativity to that and it’s becoming more and more unbearable!

Dallas won today by controlling the clock like no other game since the dynasty days and a defense that as given up 10 points and 400 total yards in two games. The touchdown and 68 of those yards came on a missed tackle by the safety. If that didn’t happen we would be looking at an all time great defensive start to the season and a two game span.

Offensively putting together 5 12+ drives against a great defense that resulted in 24 points is pretty impressive.

With that said, a smart coach would not show anything more than he has too of his scheme. The play calling was very very vanilla after we went up by 3-scores for a reason.

Being negative and just spewing nonsense has become a pandemic in the world today.

Yeah and I keep hearing why open up the playbook and show anything if we don’t have to. Did you see the red zone Offense today. Dak did miss a wide open TE for the TD. But that’s the only pass he missed. We will see going forward.

Maybe it's the Fantasy Football mentality that creates the complaining from fans who are chomping at the bit on every play hoping their player generates them some points?

Amen. Too much madden mentality going on.

It's a long season. No use showing the whole playbook in blow outs. I appreciate the grind it out approach way more than the risk it for the biscuit approach throwing for 450 and risking interceptions. Protect the ball. Keep your defense fresh. Run out the clock.
The only ones crying about how they dominated today are ignorant casuals, or fantasy football nerds mad because their pick didn't get to pad their stats...

Yes I guess some people are like that, but I for one absolutely love a intellectual debate!

Absolutely, and this should be nominated for the best post of the new season so far:.

Today’s game was the kind of game that Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells would call on offense. They would want to have time of possession, no turnovers, and let Doomsday eat.

That is precisely what McCarthy did and it is going to win a lot of games for this franchise.

Today was a thing of beauty and the casuals just can’t see it.

Not questioning anyone's intelligence here, but I agree about the level of negativity. It's crazy! The Cowboys are 2-0 and I believe are one of only three teams in modern NFL history to score 70 points in their first two games. We as fans should all be pretty happy

A thread complaining about the complaining?

What a concept!
You can say that all you want because you have NOTHING ELSE to contribute to the discussion. But on this one I call BS, the original post was not “complaining about complaining” at all. He made skmw
Points and then called out stupidity. Even you , should be able to see the difference.

Lmao - tell me you never watched the 90’s Cowboys - without telling me.

Jimmy Johnson was a gambler and a big chunk play guy - he also despised field goals with a passion.

In fact one of JJ’s famous quotes is - play for field goals and you play to lose.

He employed Norv Turner for a reason.

Parcels Yes you’d be correct- he liked field positions - he liked having a great angle punter In Sean landeta and dominant linebackers.

This is another BS response. It’s so typical lately. From the same group of y’all. You lack meaningful contributions to the discussion so you play victim.

Look, We understand and respect differing opinions and encourage diverse perspectives. However, when you respond to 20 threads, and 19 out of 20 of them are approached negatively, it reinforces the argument. You're not providing any valuable input; you're simply engaging in argumentation for the sake of argument. Look up the definition of a contrarian and you’ll probably see a picture of most the people here who are negative about everything.

To be honest, this site would be a little boring without the crazies, the homers, the nabobs of negativism, the QB haters, the QB lovers, the know-it-alls, the know-nothings, the pretend Cowboy fans, etc.

The trick is to have fun with them. Know which are which and enjoy the banter.
