I think the Giants and the Eagles both have relatively easy wins tomorrow, so we should all be in for some hair-raising football the next two weeks. Woo Hoo! :D

I love this time of year.

The lets not get ahead of ourselves, the boys have to concentrate on beating the Skins tomorrow and worry about eagles next. :)

I think Signals did state that the next 2 weeks would be exciting, meaning the games against the Skins and the Eagles.

Tyke1doe is right. The Colts going 16-0 could probably get the flex game. We'll have to see if they beat the Jets tomorrow. Something tells me they will.

If the Steelers beat the Ravens tomorrow night, and the Jaguars, Texans, Dolphins, and Jets all pass the dorch, then the Steelers versus the Dolphins in Week 17 could be another flexed game.

Then, we have the Cowboys versus the Eagles for the division crown and quite possibly the #2 seed if the Vikings choke tomorrow. I don't know, but these last two weeks are going to be exciting.

Here are my flexes:

1. Colts-Bills

2. Eagles-Cowboys

3. Steelers-Dolphins

I just read on Wikipedia that all rules are off limits for week 17 flexing. Meaning that they can choose to flex any game they want. Fox and CBS cannot protect any games during week 17, and they throw out all rules with regards to prime time appearances for week 17.

So I guess Sunday Night it is...and we all have to wait longer in the day for the outcome

well if wikipedia says it, it must be true

we can get ahead of ourselves, the team shouldn't but we can, we have no bearing on the outcome

We have an article in our newspaper today that says the same thing. No protected games. (There's also a thread somewhere on here that says the same thing.)

The only way the game would not be eligible to be flexed is if either team had used up their allotment of prime-time games, and that isn't the case.

I'm just jacking with you, I use wikipedia all the time and at least half the time it's correct :D

Fox will be super pissed off though, it will mean of Dallas' six NFC East games only three will have been on Fox.

It will be flexed if the game has any playoff implication. But I would think it would have to be for the division.

If the Eagles win tomorrow and let's say somehow the Cowboys lose, the Eagles win the division. But, a Giants win tomorrow keeps that game meaningful. They could get screwed by flexing this game if the Giants win tomorrow but lose to Minnesota. It would make the Eagles/Cowboys game meaningless.

Not meaningless, but it wouldn't be for a playoff birth anymore. It'd be for who hosts the game the next week between the two teams.

Actually, it would mean only 2 of the Cowboys' NFC East games were on FOX.

If the Eagles-Cowboys game is flexed for Sunday night, then I'm sure the wild card rematch between these two teams will have to be shown the next Sunday on FOX. I don't think the NFL would allow NBC to have back-to-back games like this.

The Cowboys mean ratings, and the Cowboys against the Eagles for the NFC East championship and the playoffs means big, big ratings. I'm not sure, though, how they can determine what will be at stake against Philly before the game against the Skins. (First post above said the announcement would be before the game tomorrow.)

IIRC, the highest rated game this year was Giants-Eagles behind Dallas-Giants week 2.

NBC will want Dallas-Philly. 1/3 the people will want Philly to win, 1/3 will want Dallas to win, and 1/3 will watch and want Dallas to lose.

If Indy goes up 27-10, then three-quarters of the viewers would tune out.

i expect it will be dallas/philly in the night game... no better way to end the season than a matchup betwen cowboys/eagles for the east.

They would be stupid to not flex the Cowboys/Eagles game next week. It will be for the NFC East and feature the biggest draw in Sports, the Dallas Cowboys.
