She has a hard time just jumping straight up on the couch or chair anymore, she has to get her front claws in and pull herself up.

You might want to try something like this: http://www.asseenontv.com/detail.php?p=293100&SESSID=b1dc0a2a872c1eeb41cdf7001daa58cd

I bought them awhile ago for my oldest cat that recently passed away. She had a hard time getting up to her favorite spots on the couch and the steps were just the ticket. Affordable, too.

They will save the wear and tear on the couch and your leg. :D

Get a pitbull...

My old girl kicks my big bad German Shepherds butt.

It's comical to watch her chase him off his bed and claim it for herself.

She got him real good when he was a pup and he has never forgotten it. They are great buds and play all the time but she runs the show for sure.

Note to all, .. read this thread prior to getting a cat.

All of these issues seem like normal cat things to me. We had cats when I was growing up.

They do some crazy stuff, .. you can expect it.

My wife is allergic to cats so I haven't had one in quite a while, but cats are cool, .. just different.

They are not fluffy dogs.

I would say you have too much time on your hands.

FYI, you can post the youtube video's by doing. [youtube] Of2HU3LGdbo part of the youtube address [/youtube < left off the last bracket to keep from activating.

We’ve got a couple now. One is an old girl, 16 years or so. Found her and a litter in the shed one spring when we lived in town. Kept her and one kitten and found homes for the rest.

At that time I would have found homes for all of them not being a cat person myself. I did marry a cat person so that decision was not mine to make.

Over the years I have developed a fondness for this cat that I would never have thought possible. She is tough, smart and even obedient, at least as much as a cat can be.

She has always been an outdoor cat during the day and indoors at night. The last year though she has been content to stay indoors on all but the nicest days. She has also become much more inclined to want to be with/on me while we’re watching tv or reading or whatever.

She has a hard time just jumping straight up on the couch or chair anymore, she has to get her front claws in and pull herself up.

Nothing will get you attention quicker than having two paws worth of claws sunk in your thigh as you’re dozing in front of the TV.

Awwww. Glad to hear you are taking good care of her. Love my cat so much, even though he is a pain in the butt. My youngest son graduates from Baylor next month, and i adopted the cat about a year after. Guess I just needed someone here. He loves the cat even more than I do I think. When he calls, the first thing he asks is how is the cat doing.

I cant close my bedroom or bathroom doors when I am inside those rooms or he will sit outside crying over and over. When I am in the restroom I have to turn on the water to the tub a bit so he can drink out of it or again he will start crying like a crazy man.

Stuff that was cute when he was a kitten can be annoying 13 years later. lol

The wife had a doggie door put in for her dog and so far this year the cat has brought in three 6or7 inch snakes and puts them on the hard wood floors and shows us how fast they wiggle and not get anywhere, really gets the wife excited,She screams for me to come and get them out. That wasn't to bad until the 2 foot mama came in one morning. That put the dog, cat, and Mama up on the couch, had to hold her down with the broom and slide her on my dust pan and throw her back out in the yard. The snake, not the wife.
