He's not a very good OC. Doesn't mean Dak is great here. He likely needs to be sent packing this offseason if the season just keeps bumbling along. But not recognizing the mediocrity of McCarthy is a big mistake.
Some people have a hard time understanding that more than one person can be a problem.

Dak has his limitations. McCarthy further limits the offense.

It does not matter who the OC is; the games that count always turn out the same. Leadership, is more than cursing, screaming and antics. Most dogs bark, while the barriers are in place, but their mettle shows when they are barrier free.

Dak is a mediocre QB and MM is an old outdated offensive coordinator. So thats what we have.

How did Dak play the previous two meetings with the 49ers? Same old same old. MM may not be the greatest play caller in history, but this problem existed before MM started calling plays
Yep. And how did Micah play in those previous 3 meetings? Again, under KM, Dak led our offense to being top ranked. AGAIN, the 49ers are just better than us. They have younger minds at the offensive and defensive coordinator positions. We have old, outdated schemes that's been figured out already.

Funny how the Coordinators changed but magically it's all predictable. LOL

For those of you blaming MM for the offensive woes, how do you rationalize the fact that Dak had the same issues under KM?
Dak has more issues under MM, last 2 seasons this was a top O and RZ team. QBs in Dallas suffer from Jerry syndrome of hiring yes men coaches, MM isn’t the coach to raise Dak performance KM did much more with less. Dak is staying and MM is the only scapegoat left at this point. At some point a QB can’t keep killing coaches and another change will be needed with a innovative Offensive mind. MM can’t hide the warts with a 15 year outdated vanilla O unless he has a AR or PM at QB.

That's not entirely true. The Cowboys were 1st in red zone TD rate last year and 6th the prior year.

They are currently 28th this season.
Thank You. it's not entirely true. The issue Moore had with Dak at QB was he scored a lot of points, at times, the most points. So, it's definitely not entirely true. Not even remotely true. That said, we're only 5 games in.

Tonight will be a good test.

This must be the thread where we pretend Kellen Moore's offense wasn't the 2nd most productive in the league during his time here behind the Chiefs.

The "issues" Kellen had weren't real. Just a figment of a fan's imagination.
That's right. That, and the fact people didn't like his demeanor after losses, and the fact he's just kind of a laid back guy.

He was the best OC we've had in a long while though.

I like McCarthy as a HC, more of a general. But keep him away from the details and Xs and Os.JMO. But he's got a lot to prove as an OC. At this point, I think I'd rather have Shottenheimer calling plays.

The exact same claims of predictable offense was leveled against Moore and Linehan. How do you rationalize that three coaches created different offensive schemes and somehow all made it very predictable?
Someone had posted (on one of the Facebook Dallas Cowboy fan pages) I counted about 20 different things (including coaches) and at the end of it says "Notice which player is connected to every single one of these. When do we accept that Dak just isn't it? I wish I would have screenshot it... It was a very interesting synopsis.

You realize people are criticizing McCarthy for things like play design, situation play calling (red zone, etc.), and an outdated philosophy that isn't even remotely in line with the modern NFL, right?

Not everything has to be about Dak ALL THE TIME. It's exhausting.

I miss Romo’s ability to extend plays and create.

Dak’s just a pocket passer and not even a very good one.
Dak is not a pocket passer and if they tried to make him one will be failure, when he could run he could extend plays by getting out of pocket and throwing on the run or taking off for a chunk of yards. now he just takes a sack not getting rid of the ball

70% is still based off of Garrett's basic system. MM changes the 30%, but yet we have not seen it.
What have we seen of it, have not been the stupid calls or the get cute calls. But also, the execution in the red zone has been horrendous. But dropped passes does not help. If the passes would have been caught. Then what would we be saying.
