Things could be a whole lot worse.

For example:

You could be a fan of the Panthers, whose QB found even more ways to self-destruct and completely humiliate himself on Sunday, to the point where the booing got exponentially louder on every dumb throw he made. I saw this game here in Australia and it was tough to watch, even as someone with no rooting interest.

You could be a fan of the Bears, whose wildly overhyped superstar recruit threw four picks and looked exactly like the guy who has a 17-21 record as a starter. Throw in the loss of the heart and soul of your defence for the whole season and depression is surely soon to set in.

You could be a fan of the Cardinals, who looked atrocious at home against a very average 49er ballclub and may already be suffering a from post-Superbowl hangover. If Warner gets hurt (that should be WHEN not if), this team could collapse in a hurry.

You could be a fan of the Bills, who found a new way to grab defeat from the jaws of victory against the Pats. I know Brady is a genius, but there is no way on this earth you should lose a 24-13 lead with 5 mins to go in a game you have pretty much owned. Plus as a fan you have to be holding your breath over the inevitable TO explosion (and it will come, we all know it, even the TO apologists can't deny it's going to happen at some stage this season).

My point is, it's no bad thing to be a Cowboys fan right now. Sure, the run D against the Bucs was less than impressive to say the least, and I'm not entirely happy about Felix the Cat's seeming propensity for injury, but when your QB has a career day and three receivers virtually written off by the so-called experts do whatever they wanted against the Tampa Bay secondary, the special teams look awesome and the offensive line plays for the most part like the monsters they are, I for one am feeling pretty damn good to be a Cowboy fan right about now.

Yeah, I know, the Giants are coming to town. And there is certainly a chance that this first week was just a mirage and NY will give us a severe reality check. But I'm not so sure about that - there's just something about the attitude of this group I'm really liking right now, and I believe they are ready to step up to the challenge.

I'm certainly not going to tell anyone what they should and shouldn't say. That they shouldn't whine and complain or be pessimistic about our chances. But for me, I'm just happy for this season to get underway and hopeful of what the future might bring.

It's great to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Things could be a lot worse.

That Carolina QB was almost the QB for Dallas. I shudder at the thought. For his sake I hope Delhomme doesn't get run out of Carolina and end up in Cleveland. The Browns organization has a persistent problem with players getting staph infections. Delhomme has an utterly disgusting habit of constantly licking his fingers during a game. That would be a bad combination.

I would probably approach it this way.

We have only taken step 1 of a 16 game regular season journey. Its a starting point only. Important? Yes! But the only thing final about last week, the good and the bad, is the W we got, and the L Tampa got.

Now we go back to work for another week, with things learned from Sunday, to see if we can climb this weeks mountain.

We're on the right path on the scoreboard with time to work on our shortcomings.

That's a helluva rallying cry.

So many people always worried about telling the other fans to stop complaining or to start cheering more often.

Whatever happened to 'you do you, I will do me'.

The entire post was about trying to convince people to think the way he does.

We all love our cowboys BUT this team has blown Donovan McNabb-sized chunks for FAR TOO long.

We all just want to see THAT end.

"Shut up!" they explained.

It would help if they didn't "call out" fellow fans in the title, but whatever.

Good grief, how many threads on the same subject, be it one side or the other can we have this season?

Lets set the over under at 176

Please some one else tell me what I can or cant say or think and tell me again why it's not proper of me to announce the good with the bad. I NEED TO HEAR IT FROM SOME ONE ELSE!

Certainly wasn't my intention to call anyone out for how they feel or how they should feel - maybe the post title should have read something else.

I guess the original post was just my positive feelings on the Boys, right or wrong, agree or disagree. Doesn't mean I won't feel differently if we get stomped by the Giants - only that I feel we are in a good position right now and I'm confident as a fan. If you want to stay negative, or pessimistic, that's fine too, and after 44-6 I wouldn't blame you.

Apologies if this is post 177 on the subject!

Don't worry... The chronic complainers are just sensitive.

If our biggest problem after 1 week is that we didn't win pretty enough we're in a hell of a lot better shape then we where when last season ended

I didn't think we looked very sharp at all. There is definetely room for improvement. That said, I expect to beat the Giants this week, as I don't think they are any better than we are.

The better team doesn't always win, the team that plays hard and doesn't make stupid mistakes usually does. That's been our problem for quite sometime, when the going gets tough we get stupid.

Nice try. Not convinced... The true measure of this team will begin Sunday night. Keep hanging your hat on a Bucs win. I'm glad they won but not enough to dismiss obvious shortcomings that need to be fixed. No worries though. I won't try to convince you to be realistic. Float on floata.

And this thread is a flame for the moths. Hmm, a positive thread, I must go in there so I can take a wiz on their optimism.

This is a positive thread title...

For those still pessimistic/whining/cynical/'realistic' etc....

Or is a party starter by trying to address anyone who has any opinion other than that of 'Everything is awesome folks' in calling them out?

Positive would have been him saying that he liked what he saw from the Cowboys on Sunday and giving a few examples of these things.

This thread was about him trying to say he's chosen a side. That's he not like the people who see both sides of the fence. That he's a 'better fan' than all those who can criticize as well as praise things about the Dallas Cowboys.

To be blunt.

This thread was about this.

Look at me I'm being a great fan and I hope all the other great fans come in here and post the stupid hand clap thing so I can feel good about my fandom of the Dallas Cowboys.

More silly than pathetic.

I could not tell you if the OG had 14,000 posts or 2 posts and I have no idea if I have ever 'conversed' with him on here so it's nothing against him personally.

But all these threads on here of fans trying to constantly call out other fans because they don't like every little nook and cranny about the team gets tiresome.

And boring. Probably as boring as if every thread on here was about all the good stuff that happened on Sunday.

It could be even worse.

We could have Matt Moore, as our QB too.
