Which day? :laugh2: The way the NFC is it is hard to tell who is great and who is not. 1 day this team looks like the cream of the crop and the next flop. Right now Bears are the best at 8-1 but they are looking beatable right now.

Every NFC team looks beatable. They all look inconsistent. Some more than others.

P-A-R-I-T-Y!

If you can make it to the playoffs with few injuries and on a roll, you have a chance. That is what happened to Pittsburgh last year.

Winning streaks don't get you into the playoffs; overall record does.

Who cares what you want? Playoffs is playoffs. I want to be watching the Cowboys in January.

Fortunately, this isn't college, and style points don't count. Steelers snuck into the playoffs last year and that didn't hurt them any.

Can't agree with that either. I think we're "jell"ed already. All we have to do is not screw up and blow chances, because we'll get them.

10-6 will get you into the playoffs, we can lose to Indy and NYG and still make it.

This is all stuff that fans care about but has nothing to do with the game.

The talent level is certainly debatable. Top 5 of defense maybe. Maybe.

Obviously the overall record is what matters. Teams that win the Super Bowl for the most part put together an impressive winning streak. The shortest winning streak that I found (last 20 years) in the regular season was that of last years Pittsburgh Steelers and the 1988 49ers. Each of them only had a winning steak of four games in the regular season. Again, it is not that having a winning steak is necessary I suppose, I think it is just a fact that the good teams do reel off consecutive wins.

You say the Steelers snuck in the playoffs. I tend to disagree. Only four teams in the NFL had a better record than the Steelers. A 11-5 record in the NFC wins you every division minus one last year. It just so happens the AFC has been the superior conference with superior competition. The Jaguars won 12 games last year and they were still a wild card. Aside it is worth noting that Pittsburgh twice last year had four game winning streaks. If you take the playoffs into consideration they won their last eight games.

The Cowboys will beat the Colts this Sunday and then beat the Bucs on Turkey day.

Some don't like the way the team is playing right now, but, I believe they are peaking at just the right time...we all have seen teams do this before...like last year when the mighty RedStinks went on their roll...

It can be done, and it will be done!

Is that the only reason?

Obviously. And if we had beaten Philly, you certainly wouldn't consider them a good team. Your methodology is transparent.

And your credibility stock is on the rise because you follow all the talking heads on ESPN and FOX?

I most certainly don't. They just happen to agree with me about Carolina, as does almost everyone else who is paying attention.

Whatever you say stat boy.

I don't think Carolina is good, so I'm not paying attention.

the critical games are PHI and NYG. this one is irrelevant if we lose those.

this one would be great to win but we could finish 11-5 to 5-11 if we lose so ultimately it makes/breaks nothing.

I disagree. We have yet to play consistently all season. We have no 2 game win streak, much less a 3 game win streak to our name. We have not beat a quality opponent (no - I don't consider Carolina a contender. They are limping, just like we are). We lost to Washington and NY.

Sure we MIGHT still make the playoffs, considering our strength of schedule. But I for one don't want to repeat 2003 - limping into the playoffs just because we saw a good number of garbage teams.

I am not impressed with a team that gets into the playoffs by beating the Arizonas and Titans of the world, but not the Indys or the Giants or the Saints (looking ahead).

In fact, I have yet to be impressed by this TEAM.

I have been impressed by Terrence Newman (although I think he is probably due for a poor game soon), I have been impressed with Andre Gurode, and Jason Ferguson, and Tony Romo, and Patrick Crayton, and our RBs, and Roy Williams (Yes - this is true - we are playing way too much cover two, and not everyone seems to see the effect he has - teams just do not throw strong side).

But i have yet to see this team play a great game. Last year they did - the first game of the season. Then they had spurts, but never put it all together again. This year we must put it together against the Colts, or they will beat us. We have to play our game, dictate how the game goes, and jell as a team.

If we drop this game, we are back to .500. After that, we could go as high as 11-5, but I would predict more like 10-6, 9-7, heck, maybe even 8-8 for the year.

The fact is - we need this game to a) solidify our swagger for the rest of the season and make a strong playoff run and b) if we make the playoffs, verify that we CAN hang with the big boys.

I'm tired of seeing the cowboys feel good about being a top 15 or even top 10 team. We have the talent that we should be in everyone's top 5 or 3, but the team has yet to force anyone's hand.

Please please please, for the first time this season, I want to see us more than 1 game over .500.

Did you read the whole thing? Making the playoffs beating nothing but garbage isn't good enough and is NOT a success, any more than 2003 was a success.

Making the playoffs and actually beating quality opponents to make it there is impressive and gives us something. Going in based on schedule is not.

If we make the playoffs, it will mean we have beaten some good teams because we're going to have to beat several over the next 7 games to make the playoffs. Games left:

Indy
Tampa Bay (not a bad team, just bad luck. 11-5 last year)
@ Giants
Philly
@Atlanta
New Orleans
Detroit

See. If we make the playoffs, we will have beaten some good teams.

If we had crushed Philadelphia 35-14, they'd be 4-5 right now, with three losses in their past four games, and there is NO WAY he'd say that win was over a good team.

And if we had lost 35-14 to Carolina, they'd be 6-3 right now with six wins in seven games, and you can bet he'd say that loss was to a good team.

A look at Carolina:

ATL without Smith (L 6-20)
@MIN without Smith (13-16)
Bucs win
Saints win
Browns win
Baltimore win
cincy (L 14-17)
Cowboys (L 14-35)
Bucs win

I think it's reasonable to say they are sitting at 6-3 or 7-2 with their best offensive player healthy. They beat a good Bmore and Saints team, and barely lost to the Bungles, who have a NASTY schedule and are better than their record indicates IMO.

Good team IMO, but to each their own.

You really cant look at it like that... Romo didnt start those games... he could be 3-0 right now.... so those games we lost with Drew dont mean anything to me... it truly is a NEW season these last 8 games.. now 7

Actually, he is the one using "IF's". If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

I don't see Carolina as a threat. Thats my opinion.

All this, if this would have happened, or, what about if this transpired......I'm going off what has happened.

I don't see Carolina as a threat. End of story.
