For those who think it wasn't a catch

What's even worse is they called it a catch on the field. So unless you are 100% sure he wasn't making a football move, the call should have stood.

To me, this is the only valid argument as to why it should have been a catch.

By the letter of the law, it was not a catch but they called it one on the field. At that point, they have to be 100% sure. I saw no angle that should have made them 100% sure that the ball hit the ground.

That's even without the whole "football move" nonsense, which a ridiculous statement to base a rule on.

The head of officiating when asked if Dez's two steps to the goalline and reaching the ball out were considered by them as "a move related to the game" (a football move) and he said we did but it "has to be more than that."

I kid you not he said that.

Not even remotely comparable.

To you no.

To other fans, I'm telling you. Step outside this forum and go to another that's a sports forum for all. You will get flamed and told you stole 1 last week, and to stop crying.

I saw many Cowboys fans attacking Lions, and laughing at them.

Why? Lol.......come on I know they beat us, but he said nothing wrong.

He wants the W, however he will get it. Same here.

You honestly think he will sit there and say "Yeah he caught it, we cheated them, ha losers"

They won fair and square. I honestly feel like we were the better team sunday. We didn't play like it all 4 quarters though. We had chances to literally bury them. We did no such thing. So we depend on a desperate "superman come save me" type of play.

No! He said he was 100% confident it was not a catch. Hes a football guy he knows the rules. The fact that he said that alone makes him a **** bag. Anyone with common sense and football knowledge knows that it was a completed catch.

I recommend people watch First Take tomorrow morning. Skip Bayless will finally wake people up that THIS IS NOT A CALVIN JOHNSON RULE INCIDENT,,,,

He was down by contact…If the ball never touches the ground and he reaches the end zone the refs would call it down at the 1 yard line.. No one is asking the question "WHY DID THE SIDE REF RULED COMPLETED CATCH AND DOWN AT 1 YARD LINE"????????

That is what they should have reviewed not the CJ rule…I honestly almost want to call it a cover up job by the whole media by hearing all of them talking about CJ rule and football-move and all this nonsense … either that or they are all plain stupid

I heard one smart caller to the ticket who asked Norm and Donovan the same question…and it was like a shocking wake up question…both replied "huh? that's true…we never thought about that"

Can't wait for 1st Take tomorrow

Hey man, I just thought it was a great play, that should not have been relied upon in the 1st place.

I've watched it frame by frame like a lot of people have done and the frame that convinced me Dez made a "move related to the game" is after taking two steps that gain positive yardage Dez is just about to hit the ground and you think the next frame will show the ball hit the ground, but it doesn't, it shows Dez make an intentional move to stick the ball out to try and reach the goal line.

I agree. But how could they acknowledge is was a football related move and still over turn it? That doesn't make any sense. What more did they need to see?

This.

Most of the people talking about the call aren't even aware that there was contact made by the defender.

I actually think it was a td the more I watch it

No matter what the opinion is of catch or not, Shield's leg touches Bryants on the way down, so had it been a catch he would have been down at the 1 yard line where is left elbow went down before the ball came loose.

That was not a rant on you, but rather Rodgers he should have said something other than what he did. He knows it was a catch but used the lame Calvin Johnson play to sum this play up. I lost alot of respect for him on that.

It has nothing to do with that quote...he is always a ****** bag.

it's only down by contact after they determine he made a football move, or a move "common to the game", because then the process of a catch is complete

down by contact is not the point that needs to be made and I hope Skip is smarter than that. The point to be made is precisely that Dez did make a football move and therefore became a runner, and is down when he hits the ground.

Stole one is a horrible viewpoint. You can't steal one if there was no call to make. Ticky tac at best. And the 4th and 6 shouldnt happen if they get the hold on witten right on 3rd down.

Lions had a chance and blew it...twice. we had our chance and had it ripped away. We went for it on 4th down knowing it was probably the ball game.

Made the play...an amazing play at that...and had it ripped away. If this is the crap that the nfl wants...im done.

Instead of the cowboys taking the lead or choking and rodgera getting a chance to march down the field to win on a gimp leg...we get a bs call.

Not what i would want if it were my league.
