With Hurd and Williams likely out, this is a perfect opportunity for Amendola to step up.

I understand where you're coming from however, I do not believe Ogletree is getting the hype that Amendola got last year. I mean he was hyped as soon as we signed him. Ogletree is a player and is legit.

Yeah, it's not quite the same thing where people were trying to anoint Amendola as another Wes Welker before any preseason games had started. Ogletree had no hype whatsoever coming in, and he's earning praise through his play. Big difference.

... Saturday should provide him with ample opportunity to prove himself.

With Hurd hurting and Roy Williams most likely out, Austin should start with Patrick Crayton. It also might provide an opportunity for Stanback to prove he deserves a roster spot since he'll likely be the third receiver (if he's not, that should tell us all we need to know about what Dallas thinks of Stanback).

If the first team isn't effective without Roy Williams, that should also tell us all we need to know about our receiving corps.

I still have a lot of faith in Austin. I still feel he's our best deep threat, and he is a dangerous player off the bench running vertical routes against gassed corners.

I don't understand why Cowboys fans hope that the third receiver will be Ogletree over Stanback? Shouldn't we be hoping that both of these guys have success, since that would be better for our team and we wouldn't have wasted a fourth-round pick?

Sure. But there are so many folks here who really prefer to be the person who can stand up and say "you see, I told you he would never make it!!!!!"

Some folks are really more fans of patting themselves on the back than they are fans of the team.

IMO it's because we keep higher round busts or failed projects like Stanback and Barbie on the roster for years despite clear evidence of their worthlessness.

Gee. Why would you keep a project around for 2 years? Far better to just abandon projects when they don't work out immediately.

I was never on the Amendola bandwaggon but got on the Ogletree waggon real quick so that makes me special :D

Oh is Tony Romo still playing? Than we will be fine.

It hurts losing Roy but people need to stop acting like we will never complete a pass.

This team has a ton of weapons.
