Thanks for the Memories, Cowboy fan since 1970.
It was great to glance at the making of the Cowboy mystique once again.

Great pics! Been a fan since 1963 and those were a real treat.

The first one of Calvin Hill, with his arm in a sling, he looks pretty pitiful.

Too bad the Lilly vs. Too Tall pic wasn't bigger. And you can pull on Morton's legs all you want, but it ain't gonna make him a better QB.

Ah, don't pick on Morton, he was a great QB for us in SB XII. :D

Next to Herschel to Minnesota, or perhaps the Dorsett-Seattle trade, the Morton trade was the franchise's biggest heist. Still not sure why we drafted him in the first round in '65. After all, Don was still young and Roger was in the pipeline.

The old pictures are the best. I like the Newhouse and Calvin Hill TD ones the best.

That was a Cowboys front office guy, trying to get him onto a plane, after he was traded to Denver.

We traded him to the Giants in '75, but it's still funny.

Those pictures aren't all from the '73 season....Too Tall wasn't drafted until ' 74(#1 over all) he was part of "The Dirty Dozen" the moniker given to the 12 rookies that made the squad

You're partially correct. 1975 with Randy White, Hollywood Henderson, et al, was the "Dirty Dozen."

Too Tall was drafted in 1974 though. On that you are correct.

Good catch. Most of the gameday pics are from '73, however.

Mostly, teams (Dallas in particular) didn't draft for need back then.

They drafted RBs in the first round in 1969 (Calvin Hill), 1970 (Duane Thomas), 1972 (Bill Thomas) and 1974 (Charles Young).

It doesn't really go so much as it justs starts to blur the details.
