Actually, they say the memory is the SECOND thing to go.
I can't remember what the first thing was though.

Edit...oops. Already answered..
bbgun;2087151 said:Next to Herschel to Minnesota, or perhaps the Dorsett-Seattle trade, the Morton trade was the franchise's biggest heist. Still not sure why we drafted him in the first round in '65. After all, Don was still young and Roger was in the pipeline.
notherbob;2087458 said:The Boys drafted Morton because he had a cannon for an arm, maybe the strongest in the league.

I guess the thing that gets me about those old time pics more than anything else is how small the players look compared to todays players. That top pic of Drew Pearson and the one of Golden Richards especially.
Boy those sure bring back some memories.

Also -- Didn't Morton suffer a shoulder injury as a Cowboy, after which he was never quite the same?
notherbob;2087626 said:Yes, I don't remember if it was an arm or a shoulder, but he was never the same again - he just couldn't put the zip on the ball he used to. Staubach beat him out on intangibles, not arm strength.
