One of our local sportstalk show host who's at the combine said Manningham has serious personal issues that he couldn't discuss on the air. He stated that Manningham will drop like a rock, for sure out of the first round.

Every year some prospect has an awful week at the combine, both physically and in the interviews. It looks like Manningham is the guy this year. He may need a terrific pro day to even stay in the first day of the draft.

Even before the combine I wanted nothing to do with this guy. Now if we were sitting there in round 3 and he was still there I would have to start thinking about it.

I was never too excited about him but he did have a nice college career at Michigan... :), he'll drop for sure. I really hope we go another way and look at guys like James Hardy or Limas Sweed.

Never thought he was all that. Too many drops and disapeared in too many games. Glad to see that we are probably not interested.

that serious personal issues will come out, if it is serious enough. i wonder if dropping out of the first round means that he'll be a second rounder?

I wonder why the sports talk host can't talk about it.

Without official confirmation, it would be slanderous. I doubt a local radio company could take the chance like a ESPN Radio or FOX Radio to broadcast rumors that could hurt a player's draft status and then subject itself to a lawsuit.

IMO, there was only one sure fire first round WR in the draft anyhow. (Malcolm Kelly) Any of the other WRs could easily slip to the second around when comparing them to other positional talent in the draft.

I've been pimping Hardy for some time, so I'm hoping its him but Limas had a very good showing as well, faster than what most people thought. I'd be happy with either of them.

No one here is talking about Armon Shields. This guy had one heck of a combine with good speed and great agility. Why is no one talking more about him? He could be a steal in mid rounds.

I may be thinking of the wrong guy but I think I saw him drop a pass or two in the drills.

I think he'd be a decent pickup later in the draft, I'm still hoping for Jordy if we let receiver go down that far on the list. I don't know that we draft two receivers unless the second guy is special teams contributer like a Dexter Jackson.

I like James Hardy too. I wouldn't be upset with Sweed either depending on where he is taken.

Personally, I want to see the Cowboys keep both #1s and trade up to early in the second around. Grabbing two DBs and a RB or WR with the third pick.

Give me three players from this list, preferably two DBs.

  • Mike Jenkins
  • Leodis McKelvin
  • Reggie Smith @ FS
  • Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
  • Aqib Talib @ FS
  • Tracy Porter (raw but a big-time talent)
  • Malcolm Kelly
  • James Hardy
  • Limas Sweed
  • Chris Johnson (my first choice at RB even over McFadden)
  • and a slew of other RBs

Even though I want two DBs, I would be extremely happy with Chris Johnson and Malcolm Kelly along with a DB of your choice. :)

I'm going to have to re-watch the WR drills again. From what I recall I kept thinking is quickness and agility would be a perfect compliment for the cowboys offense. Not to spend a top draft pick, but if here were there later ...

And yes, Dexter Jackson on returns! I love it especially when there's his kind of speed. I was wondering if Johnson (4.24 - 40) was a returner too ...

If the guy is only 5'11 then he is not worth drafting in the 1st place in my opinion.

I think he would have to be, especially early on since I doubt his blocking is NFL caliber just yet.

And that's a nice list NYC, I keep hearing about Brandon Flowers too at CB. I guess we'll see some of the kid on Tuesday.
