I'm going to have to re-watch the WR drills again. From what I recall I kept thinking is quickness and agility would be a perfect compliment for the cowboys offense. Not to spend a top draft pick, but if here were there later ...

And yes, Dexter Jackson on returns! I love it especially when there's his kind of speed. I was wondering if Johnson (4.24 - 40) was a returner too ...

Chris Johnson was a **** of a returner in college. He has great vision and patience on kickoff returns and when the jets come on, no one is catching him. He didn't return punts, but I could see him doing that at the pro level. I think the comparisons to Dave Meggett are good. I'd love to see him as a compliment to MB3. Get the kid in space and let him RUN!!!!

Manningham seems to be this year's draft equivalent of USC WR Smith, which turned out good for the Giants.

Did Steve Smith have off the field issues? And if I recall, I think he ran a sub 4.4 raising his stock on draft day.

Yeah, I think he raised his stock more than lowered it after his last game. I don't remember bad press about him or his stock dropping.

One of our local sportstalk show host who's at the combine said Manningham has serious personal issues that he couldn't discuss on the air. He stated that Manningham will drop like a rock, for sure out of the first round.

Maybe he came out during the interviews. He is from Cal, and everyone knows that is the Gay area.

Steve Smith (Giants) also catches damm near everything thrown his way. He never got the credit, but he was the best WR that USC had while he and Dwayne Jarrett were there.

Manningham just wishes he had the skills of that little guy.

I'm up here in Big Ten country and saw him play a few times.

not slow (though 40s at combine weren't good)
small
doesn't show up every play, every game
no blocker
other than that he's a great player

please, Jerry don't draft him

wow....and his 40 time was very slow

.....and evidently shorter than expected. Slow and short is not a great combination!

I'm a Michigan Fan and know that his 40 time is not indicative of his true speed on the field. Anyone who watched him in his last bowl game vs. Florida will tell you the same.

I read on another mb that he reminded ppl of Chad Johnson. Although Chad is an inch taller and ten lbs heavier, I can see what they mean. (Heard Chad ran a 4.57 at combine)

MM runs crisp routes and is very fast coming in and out of his cuts. He does drop his share of catchable balls, but so do alot of wr's.

I think his poor timing had more to do with poor technique, than lack of explosion. A few of the track coaches at Michigan who saw him run said he was getting upright too soon out of his three point stance. They added that it looked like he was running in place at the start of his 40 because his steps were so short and choppy.

If you believe his 40 times from yesterday, you also must believe that Mike Hart has possess the same speed. That is just not the case.

And just for comparison's sake, go ahead and check out how many 30+ yard catches other wrs who tested faster made this past year.
