Larry Grant-LB- Rams Aug. 12 - 1:15 am et

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch confirms that Larry Grant has supplanted Bobby Carpenter as the Rams' starting weak-side linebacker.

Carpenter has lacked physicality in St. Louis, just as he did in Dallas, and will be no better than the fourth linebacker. James Laurinaitis remains the Rams' IDP linebacker to target, but Grant is worth a look in deep leagues.

So zoners, did the cowboys still win over swapping carpenter for barron, or what?

On a positive note, he's still in the running to be the backup for the Rams head cheerleader.

But i thought all Barbie needed was to play in a 4-3 defense.this guy was terrible from the start. yet some here made excuses for him for 4 years.we got the better of this deal. Baron could be our starting RT next year.

Hmm, that can't be right, the Rams run a 4-3.

What I find amazing is that his Dad (to those of us that seen him play) was a tough Son of a gun

I never wanted to draft him because he looked like a poor fit as an OLB in a 3-4, just not a pass rusher. But I was really shocked at just how poor of a LB he is period. The one thing I did notice from his college days that have showed up in his professional career is that he always seems to be chasing and diving at the ball carrier's feet.

Won't happen.

Barron lacks the strength and physicality to play RT, especially for a team like the Cowboys.

He's a nice swing tackle though.

Both teams had backups. Barron probably shouldn't have been starting it's just that the Rams didn't have anyone better to put in his place.

You'll all see. Carp will start in a year or so. He's got the potential. Just needs some time to prove himself. Parcells is never wrong. Except with Testeverde coming back and maybe bringing Bledsoe back, and maybe on Julius Jones and maybe on.....

This is a fantasy assessment from the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch we're talking about, right?
