Both Ware and Hatcher are already hurt. Hatcher is actually on the PUP list at the moment.

Makes it painfully obvious that paying age doesn't work. I agreed with the moves before they happened, were happy that they happened, and this only solidifies that.

We haven't even really enjoyed the cap savings from not maintaining these guys on the roster yet, so those benefits should still roll in.

It should be a matter of mere hours until Miles Austin is reported as injured as well.

We should be excited about this defense especially. Even more so if some of the players we invested in heavily pan out finally. Stephen Jones mentioned them: Claiborne, Carter, and Lawrence, but I would also include Carr and Lee (next year) in that mix. We've already got a lot of new starters on defense right now, off the top of my head I would say at least 6.

Gotta remember its early in camp and these guys are vets. They don't really need to be in camp. PUP for Hatch hints that it might be more serious though.

I would venture to guess that 95% of Cowboys fans agreed with letting Hatcher walk and asking Ware to take a paycut.

Love those guys but Ware and Miles were here 2 and 3 years too long respectively.

Benefits of not paying age? Whatever it takes to make you feel better about the roster I guess. I wouldn't start patting the Cowboys on the back for these shrewd moves. We still enjoy the injury bug along with the rest of them. Would you be surprised if Ware played more than Spencer. Or Hatcher more than Melton. Or Miles more than Sean Lee? I believe we made those Ware and Hatcher moves because of our cap irresponsibility of the previous few years more than our intelligence. I wonder if you would feel the same if/when Claiborne and Dunbar get nicked up again? Oh, just for laughs...... Matt Johnson.

So you thought Dallas should have cut Ware after the 2011 season when he had 19.5 sacks? That was still early into the 6 year contract he signed in 2009. Few teams if any would have cut him under those circumstances.
