The Dallas Cowboys could have as many as six new starters on defense this season, overhauling a secondary with three draft picks and the signing of Damonte Kazee. These players will have a former Cowboys starter assisting them on the field at practice, as 105.3 The Fan reported that George Teague has been invited to assist the coaching staff at OTAs.
Teague is best known for defending the Cowboys star with his hit on San Francisco 49ers receiver Terrell Owens celebrating a touchdown at midfield during a 2000 game at Texas Stadium. For some perspective, Cowboys second round pick Kelvin Joseph was born in 1999.
The players George Teague will have a chance to mentor may not remember his famous act, but the Cowboys are no stranger to having former players on the field working with coaches. Teague will work alongside Defensive Pass Game Coordinator Joe Whitt and DB Coach Al Harris.
