lol.

Some salty people in here about a game that they claim they don't care about, and doesn't matter, yet they're in here commenting on it.

I love the pro bowl threads every year. The butt hurt is real every single time.

Oh, I'm sorry, is this good news?

I'm sure it is for the agents of these three linemen. All it does for us is insure that all three of these Pro Bowlers can never get paid the amount they can demand of the Cowboys when the time comes.

In the age of free agency and salary caps the window for building and maintaining a good team depends on the number of players that are considered to be stars. The higher the number, the less likely of keeping them intact.

The trick is to have as many squads as possible emerge at one time. What good is a great young line when the quarterback is in his twilight? By the time his replacement is developed, the O-line will be football's version of the Beatles.

Also, when it comes to the offensive line, a great one can have the nasty habit of turning their fellow teammates into stars thus raising their price as well.

A fantastic opportunity for championships continues to melt away as we celebrate the recognition of players on a team that has achieved nothing but bitter disappointment this season.

And that's where your scouting department comes in. The reality of today's NFL is that you can't keep players "forever" like you could in the 70s.

Free agency and players wanting to maximize their earning potential are realities in today's NFL.

So it's imperative that a team have a good scouting department and good scouts looking for younger players who can replace veteran players who may be looking forward to moving on and cashing in on their success.

Dont fans vote on pro bowl selections, if so it is all a joke. Does not mean anything.

Which explains how Calvin Johnson and some other 'reputation' players made it. I think fan vote is part of the selection process.

Sean Lee injury jokes are old. Guy had a healthy season, give him credit. He was only held out because of NFL protocol from concussions, if this was before a few years ago, he would've played all 14 games

If there were no free agency at all, the Cowboys would likely have won five straight Super Bowls.

If Romo would have remained healthy, we could have gone undefeated instead of the Panthers being in that position.

You see where I'm going?

The fact is Sean Lee plays in TODAY'S NFL. And he was injured via a concussion so he had to sit out a game or two.

He STILL has not played a complete 16 game schedule. Though he may have been worthy of Pro Bowl consideration, the reality is that his reputation is one of not finishing an entire season. And that's what likely worked against him.

Megatron and DeMarcus Ware shouldn't be on the list.

I know what you mean, my comments were directed towards people making jokes at his expense. I am pretty happy he has made it through an entire season (knock on wood) without any significant injuries. Not that a concussion is not serious...it is just unavoidable in football.

Fair enough.

I didn't see the jokes. It would have helped had I had that bit of context. :)

The probowl votes used to be by the players, so they voted for who they thought were the best that year, so it meant something, now
days I dont think it is like that.
It is more of a popularity contest.

No, he wasn't. Not even close. Not even nearly as good as Martin this year.

Had more flash plays than Martin has had both years though. So I'll give you that.

Guess we disagree. Collins to me has been one of the best OL in the team this season. That's just what I have seen. Everybody to their own

How would Lee be considered a snub? That 3-4 thing is a weak excuse. He isn't there because he wasn't healthy enough and didn't make the plays after week two. Good, but not good enough. Consistency and availability do matter.

I will agree that he did not have enough impact plays such as interception. However, I disagree that he didn't make the plays after Week 2. He's had three standout games and has been solid in the others he played. If he would have made the interceptions he had a couple of years ago, he probably would have made the Pro Bowl.
