Fox HD broadcasts, anyone notice?

I read an article about it awhile back, but maybe it's for cost reasons. Big game, then you get HD quality. Sucky game, standard quality.
You can buy an HD camera for like two grand.

Woodysgirl the game was listed as not HD.The game started not in HD but FOX must have flipped a switch because it is now in HD.
Not sure what you're watching. Cuz it's not HD here. I know the difference. And I really doubt they flipped a switch and all of a sudden the game is in HD.

Ah that's chump change.. ;)

Seriously, I don't know why they don't do it. I'd have to find where I read it. But I know that not all games are delivered in HD for some reason.

It looks alright here, but yeah the bar looks a little low. I am getting the Packers/Panthers game.

Yeah, this is definitely not HD.

Cheap bastids.

And does anyone else want to punch Chris Rose in the mouth?

I checked the yahoo tv and titan tv and they also don't show it as hd. If it is upconverted then the OTA signal sure is clear though. I don't have the graininess that others have mentioned.

So do I. I'm watching it on FOX HD.The game started in 4x3 now it is in 16x9.It looks like they upconverted the image from 480i to 720p because it doesn't look as crisp as it should.

I've got DTV and the HD package, and the game is not in HD.

If you go to nfl.com, you can see which games are broadcast in HD and the Texans aren't.

It's a better pic than the standard 480, but it's definitely not 720p or 1080i.

yeah, its upscaled to hd and looks horrible and blurry. I cant wait till these networks get enough HD cameras and equipment for every game.

I do prefer the upscaled hd to not having it done. Plain SD on my HDtv makes me angry when i watch it, lol.

again, FOX HD looks good for me. I wonder if the signal is degraded is certain areas?

stupid question but is everyone watching their respective HD channel and not their regular feed?

A $2k consumer hd camera vs a broadcast hd camera is like comparing a BMW to a Ford Focus. Broadcast cameras are $30k+.

I'm getting the Lions game. They haven't displayed the Miami-Eagles score in the scrollbar all day long. They also said there was 27 minutes left in the second quarter of the Ravens game.

Point? Shouldn't the company have more $$$$? My point is that it's not like some uber-expensive scarce equipment.

Yup, also come in handy when you want to watch something, when the wife has two other shows being DVR'd

It's not on HD on DTV Sunday ticket
Leads me to believe it is not HD programming for all.

Some people think that widescreen = HD, which is not true. I'm watching the game OTA, and it looks horrible

You can see the difference by just watching Fox Sunday half-time show.

Yes - I have a rabbit ears and can go OTA and get many Local channels. I actually get two major markets in Boston and Providence perfect reception. It's perfect quality and why in a year or so all the old TV's won't work anymore......

Upgrade and brace, analog signals and TV'S ARE DEAD SOON.

My regular feed looks like crap but the my HD channel looks really good.

Fox comes in at 720p and CBS 1080i for me

CBS appears better quality to my eyes.
