I think this might have a lot more to do with the fact that they can count the bonus against this year's cap if they sign him before Monday. I think they've been doing extensions at this time of the year pretty consistently

They HAD to sign him. They were losing their team. Eventhough many of his teammates don't like TO's style, they know he's right about the Beagles not paying their players market value. The Beagle organization is notorious for lowballing their players, and this led to the team splitting. This signing allows them to at least hold their team together for the time being. But don't think they've changed their philosophy. As soon as this TO situation passes, it will be business as usual. Say what you will about Jerrah, but if you lay it on the line for him and the team, he'll repay you properly while still keeping the team in good cap standing.

I am looking forward to several more years without the Eagles having a running game.

Wow a rational thought by a foreskins fan who'd thunk it?;)

I'm not exactly worried about the Westbrook signing, he isn't exactly a world beater, while he is an exceptional reciever out of the backfield, I'm not sure he is durable enough to be a fulltime RB.

The Eagles really needed to do this not only to keep Westbrook, but they needed some good PR. This should give the team a shot in the arm and the fans as well. How much it translates on the field remains to be seen.
