The camera and lens was discussed on one of the morning shows. IIRC it is a sony body with a cannon lens.

Because it was an extreme close up of one player with the entire background out of focus.

I would fire whoever thought that was a good idea. You actually saw less of the celebrations.

Live Focus. It looks cool but cartoonish in a way.

It has it's applications.

All in all it adds some creativity to the broadcast. I’m sure they will refine it with time

It's actually not new technology. a 7-10k handheld camera. some dude is walking around with it in End Zones filming the shots. but it does add something cool.

The first shot, that's what I was wondering for a couple of seconds. Once I got used to it, I thought it was pretty cool.
