He will be a (well paid) lousy commentator
^^ FIFY lol

Out of all the "former players who become announcers", I am hoping Brady calls out players, coaches and plays when he sees them rather than going soft like all of the rest do including Aikman and Romo.
He does not seem like someone who cares what other people think and it would be nice to have someone saying the things that fans say rather than worrying more about players, coaches, etc. getting mad at them for justified criticism.
I was thinking he was heading for Hollywood..Come on Tom, give someone else a chance at something one time at least.
I believe Peyton wants to stay on the lighter side of TV - funny, offbeat appearances on shows, interviews, along with commercials. Doing the serious weekly broadcast as analyst is not his cup of tea, IMO.for that kind of money, Payton Manning should get a contract in the same range, he is funny
The networks care.I don't get it with these announcer contracts. People actually care about announcers? Lol
if you read the other posts, you would know this is a deal for when he does retire, not now lol.
Tom will be good at whatever he does, as he will put in the work.
I guess I’m one of the few who didn’t initially like Romo’s schtick but it has grown on me . I wasn’t initially a fan of Madden either .
Who hasn't had a job interview that went like:
Me - "I'd like to work here after this year is over."
Plumber - "What's your experience?"
Me - "I'm the best car salesmen the Joliet, Illinois area's ever seen."
Plumber - "You're perfect, let's do this. We'll start you out at $2 million a year, but I can only guarantee that for ten years."
Me - "Do all your plumbers make $2M a year?"
Plumber - "No, they make a tiny fraction of that, but you're the best damn car salesmen I've ever seen and you'll be the best damn plumber I've ever seen as well."

DAK will make more than that in half the time! He may get that on his next contract with jerry!Sounds like those initial numbers were very high; seeing several sources saying its in the $20-25 million per year range. Which would still be the top rate.
Also after his career; I think this will be his last year playing.
Side note: Tom Brady made over $300 million in his career. Anyone claiming he was playing for a lot less should think on that.
I don’t get the discontent about announcers and analysts.....every sport has them.People care when they're bad, but people tune in to watch their team. The network should save their money
