FoxSport.com's John Czarcecki believes Vince Young could drop to the seventh pick in the Draft.

The Titans reportedly aren't sold on his ability to run a Norm Chow offense. The Jets reportedly prefer Jay Cutler and the Packers and 49ers seem unlikely to draft a quarterback. It's hard to imagine Young slipping past Oakland at No. 7 or Arizona at

Rodgers did drop like a stone last year. I don't think it'll happen, as QBs are almost always over-valued, but it's within the realm of possibility.

drop to 18th, JJ get it done

if by trading down when Young drops you mean get it done then by all means. I just don't see the kid being able to run a pro offense.

I'd take him at 18 in a heartbeat but as the original author said, there is no way he gets by both Al Davis and Denny Green. No-way.

GET R DUN!!!!!
Like who you like but I think VY is way over rated and has no clue how to run a pro offense why bring someone to sit and watch for 3 yeaers take cutler or Croyle My money's they are both better NFL QB's than young will ever be. But then again that's me.....

Didn't he run a pro type offense at Texas?

Not saying that means anything...I know the speed of the game is much different at the pro level. (Which is why I think Reggie Bush won't be as good as some think.)

I was just wondering what people are trying to say when they say he can't run a pro offense, as I thought the Texas offense was rather advanced.

I personally think he doesn't have what it takes to be a trully sucessful NFL QB...but people have doubted him all the time, saying Texas couldn't beat SC, all this, and he just does it.

He is a winner and, more importantly, a damn fine athlete. He also has the right attitude to be successful.

He will succeed at this level. May not be as a quarterback, but he will make an impact somehow...

Think Kordell Stewart...

Ah yes, slash. I guess he had a few good years mixed in there, but I wouldn't consider Kordell a sucess in any real way shape or form.

Young is a winner. and he is a fine athlete. He even has a good arm, but one thing he's going to need to account for in the NFL, he wont be running all over people on a regular basis.

I think he's an interesting propsect, but if you want a REAL QB, he's not your guy. I think it's going to take some time and patience until he adapts to the NFL. That's not different for any other QB, it might just be an even more difficult learning curve for Young.

And if you have Kordell Stewart sitting there for you, do you really take him with a top 10 pick. To justify picking VY top 10, Kordell Stewart needs to be kept out of the argument

NCAA | V. Young scores low on Wonderlic test
Sun, 26 Feb 2006 14:11:01 -0800

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports there was word around the NFL Combine that Texas QB Vince Young scored a six on his Wonderlic test and scored another six on his second attempt at the test.

I was just saying that he could be used as a quarterback and WR. He has the size and knows how to throw the ball.

Not comparing him to Kordell in regards to talent.

According to the ESPN guys on the radio this afternoon, Young had some major strides to take before making it onto the field. Strictly running a shotgun formation in college sets him back for example: learning to take a hike from center, rotating his hips to make a handoff, learning the play action aspects and things like that. Everything they mentioned can be taught but Young could be in the league a couple of years (if not 3) before being ready to actually play.

They said that several NFL scouts in Indy were saying he is over rated and wasn't worth the risk of a top 5 pick especially if you consider the millions of dollars he would get. Without hesitation both guys said Cutler should and would be taken before Young. All of this didn't take into consideration his wonderlic score either. It was pretty bad.

No, he did not. He ran pretty much the exact same offense that Alex Smith ran at Utah. Which is basically the spread option. Of course not every single play he ran was the option so it's not like a pro offense would be completely foreign to him.

I think he'll need to sit a couple of years (which is what I believe should be done with almost all QBs) but he'll be fine. He needs to get the Steve McNair treatment.

I'd take him in a heartbeat at 18. He can sit behind Bledsoe for a couple of seasons. That would be perfect for him (sitting behind a pocket passer a couple of seasons). Help him learn the aspects of his game that he most needs to learn.

I'm no Vince Young fan...never have been. I think he's been overrated all along because his passing isn't that good and he's only had one very successful year.

However, I find it strangely amusing that guys who thought he was the 2nd coming after his performance in the Rose Bowl suddenly think he'll be a bust...all because of one stupid Wunderlick Test......................

Please....either you can play the game or you can't. So it may take him longer than most to digest the system and adapt...isn't that the whole value of going to the Titans at #3 so he can sit behind McNair and learn? I would never have drafted him that high, but if I believed in what I saw him do "on the field with my own eyes," there no way I'd dump on him just because of one goofy test on one day.
