Let's look at this thread's proposition another way.
Is
Dak better than the worst quarterback on any other team that made it to the Super Bowl. I think this should be the focus because the presumption is that the quarterback
leads the team. It also presumes that at the bare minimum, a quarterback has to play sufficiently enough that he can make enough plays to take a 2000 Ravens defense or a 85 Bears defense or a 02 Buccaneers defense to the Super Bowl.
So ... let's limit our range to the passing era starting, let's say, in 1980. We'll rule out quarterbacks who led their teams to multiple Super Bowls such as Plunkett (though some may want to include him for argument's sake), Brady, Favre, Aikman, Elway, etc. and Hall of Fame quarterbacks who clearly distinguished themselves as elite passers but only visited the football Promise Land once (Dan Marino, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, for examples).
That leaves:
Ron Jaworski, Ken Anderson, David Woodley, Jim McMahon, Tony Eason, Phil Simms, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Boomer Esiason, Jeff Hostetler, Stan Humphries, Neil O'Donnell, Drew Bledsoe, Chris Chandler, Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb, Kerry Collins, Trent Dilfer, Rich Gannon, Brad Johnson, Jake Delhomme, Matt Hasselbeck, Rex Grossman, Joe Flacco, Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, Nick Foles and Jared Goff.
If Dak is better than any one of these guys listed, are you forced to admit he is capable of leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl? If not, why not? So what say ye?
Is Dak better than any one in the above group? Which ones?
Go!
