Chocolate Lab said:I agree, Juke... I think Parcells likes it here, especially the team he's put together, but you can't ignore his past. And it's a little curious to me how Parcells refuses to address his future here, and also how Jerry got very snappy with Norm Hitzges when he asked Jerry about a possible extension for his coach. Jerry very sternly refused to say one word about it, and even sounded angry when he said it, which he never does with Norm.
Not that that means anything by itself, but it was a little strange...
So I would be surprised if Parcells decided to take another job, but I wouldn't be shocked, either.

Much thanks for that post.
As I stated, I would not be surprised, this is the NFL, there is no loyalty, it's all about business.

Well ya know, when he left the Pats...right after the Super Bowl and didn't take the ride home with his players, that kinda blew me away.
Again, it's all part of the package.
We'll see how it ends here.

Yeah, I remember hearing about that. I just think people are kidding themselves if they think Parcells would never ever walk away from America's Team.
kojak_DD said:Well let's say he does walk and goes to Detroit. Who is our next coach?? I don't want to go another 10 years of hand me down coaches and wasted draft picks.
I could only hope that Jerry has gained a little knowledge from having Bill around, if and when he decides to leave.
When Clint Murchison and Tex Schramm hired Landry what skins did he have on the wall?mickgreen58 said:That is my biggest fear...Jerry.
When Parcells walks away who has the skins on the wall to control Jerry Jones. Once we get the team turned around, does Jerry take over and think he learned enough from Bill to do it all himself, does he hire an empty suit and run things behind the scenes or does he get someone and allow them the same freedom Parcells has?
I hope Jerry has learned something. I dont want to see fans such as myself planning a "Jerry Man March" when he tries to be the jack of all trades guy he was in the late 90s.

When Jerry Hired Jimmy, what skins did he have on the wall?
Not trying to be contrarion, but it appears to me our best success has come when we've rolled the dice.
Until Parcells wins one or two here all he has done is rebuild. Not downplaying that accomplishment at all, but rebuild isn't what he was hired for. he was hired to return this team to glory.
I know that and I agree. I don't mind gambling on a coach, I just don't want puppets or Blue Light Specials. I will always want the best possible coach we can get. I just don't believe Barry, Chan, or Dave fit that description.mickgreen58 said:Yes, Parcells job is not finished yet.
My point is I dont want some more "empyt suits" pretending to be coach so Jerry can get his kicks out of trying to be a GM/Owner/Coach.
That's really what my point was.
