Frankly, the way we lost should make this easy for Jerry

Yeah, no way Harbaugh is going to leave that culture that he built and is finally enjoying the fruits of his labor to start all over with this festering mess we've had for several decades.
Harbaugh is too much of a weirdo to coach this team.

Big no on Bellichick. He’s 72 and probably doesn’t want to do a rebuild. Harbaugh would be fine spending a few years as a bottom feeder while changing everything. We need a rebuild. We’re not one or two players away. We don’t even have a franchise QB. We need to draft someone like Bo Nix and go into the year with Lance and Nix. You think Bellichick wants to come into a situation like that at 72 years old?

Yes, let's trade our best player who is still 24 for picks

Sometimes most of this fanbase deserves what it has got the last 25 years
A random opinion on a Cowboys forum after a humiliating loss = we deserve the Jerry Jones curse in your mind?

Exactly zero upset fans are responsible for this mess.

As I posted earlier, Quinn coached like he spent the week focused on job interviews and not the Packers.
Yes. I wish the league would ban contacting any coach about a job until after the Super Bowl is over. However, Quinn is a professional, and we had the right to expect him to stay focused on the task at hand, and wait until the Super Bowl is over before even considering another job. Before this game, I was worried about Quinn being poached away by some other team. Now I hope someone is stupid enough to hire him. It would save Jerry the trouble of firing him, and it would give us an opponent we know we can beat, if we actually get real coaches in here, which is anything but a sure thing.
...
I can't believe Quinn would abandon man-to-man coverage, which has worked well in most games, and instead go with zone. That's the epitome of getting too cute. Quinn be like, "Man coverage has worked for us, but let's trick'em by going zone." The only people he tricked were his own players.
...
As for who I want to be the HC, it would be Jim Harbaugh, but Jerry would need to be willing to step aside and give him full autonomy to make all decisions, and I don't see Jerry doing that.

I mean, when we went down 48 to 16, at home, to a 7.5 point seven seed under dog...

Fraud is the only description that comes to mind as I shook my head in disgust.

But is that even true given so many past historical playoff blunders of this team?

It's as though it was just one more case of the same.

A part of me truly wanted to believe in the Ring of Honor Jimmy curse finally being lifted.

But I guess there was and still is more to what ails this team than that. I honestly don't know what coach would be able to overcome all of this.

And GroundHog Day year 28 will continue on.

Anyone see jerry’s interview postgame. Never seen him balling out crying like that. Felt so bad for him. Think he was thinking this was his best chance to see another championship. So disappointed myself. Been disappointed a lot by cowboys iver the years but this last week was another level

The decision making should be pretty easy at this point. The staff has to go. The only guy I'd actually consider bringing back is a guy like Al Harris, who I think did a nice job. McCarthy? Quinn? OL coach? Schottenheimer?

Good bye. And it should be done in the next few days. Not a week or two weeks from now like it typical for Jerry. It needs to be done now. Because if he wants a guy like Belichick*, then you go and try to get him now, not drag your feet for a week and then possibly screw up your chances of getting the guy you would want.

You don't touch Dak's contract. You hire your staff and then you let them decide if they can win with Dak. Then, only then, do you consider touching his contract. Jerry, likely, will do this backwards and foist Dak upon the new coach (or cause him to lose a coaching candidate who wants to start fresh at QB).

* As for Belichick, I really have no idea what I think of him. Is he just washed up like a Parcells was at the end or was he just stuck with churning a mediocre roster post the Brady run? I have no idea. What I'd really like is a great young offensive mind like a McDonald or LaFleur. Let a guy that knows offense then decide if he can work with Dak.
I honestly suspect they will fire McCarthy. I think if they intended on keeping him they would have said so yesterday to keep the media at bay

Jerry isn’t going to allow a rebuild. He’s too far invested with this roster and recognizes his window is closing being in his 80’s. If anything Belichek may be what’s needed to get an undisciplined team like Dallas over the hump. Jerry has to be thinking along those lines if he’s indeed contemplating a coaching change. Zero chance he’ll wipe the slate clean at this point.
