Frederick Restructure Activated

Garrett's busy studying what other teams are doing.

Jerry assigned this homework to the coaching staff during Senior Bowl week. Jason still plugging away at it.
All that aside, it is pretty sad they have a HC out there grinding and we have, well who knows what we have.

We currently have $4.7 million CAP room after trading for Oliwale, signing Joe Thomas and Deonte Thompson. We get another $2.5 million of relief after June 1st for cutting Scandrick. Total cap room is $7.2 million. Rookies will cost about $7 million. We will eventually need to cut, restructure, or extend someone's contract to make more moves.

Not sure on the current numbers but the rookies will add 3-4m. While their total cap number might be $7m, when they get added a salary of an existing player comes off. So the true increase is usually somewhere around half of their real cap numbers.

Rookies won't cost anything close to 7m
You're right. The rookie salary pool for the picks they currently have is $7.7 million but that will only take up approximately $4.5 to $5.0 million of CAP space. Still not much room.

Plus the team will likely gain 5 Million or so when Zach Martin signs his new contract. Restructuring Tyron and Sean Lee gives you another 10MM, so that would be an added 15 million if we wanted it for Earl Thomas or a similar player.

There is also another 2MM the team will gain from adjustments with Paea, Thornton and Zeke but those may have already been added into your total.

And that total is irrelevant unless you care how the books look at the end of the quarter for Dallas.

At the moment, there is zero movement on getting Martin signed long term. That might come in the summer.

Why you would restructure the other two injured players is beyond me.

Please just stop it. Nobody cares what cap space you can create right now. It is irrelevant given the landscape.

We could have done whatever we wanted in free agency. We didn't.

Whatever is created after this stage is worthless at the end of the day.

If I'm not mistaken some of that Fredrick money went to those monster signings we been up to...

The entire Draft class will only need around 2.5m and they won't need that until they sign in the Summer

OScan's 3m June1st money will cover the whole thing

Speaking of Belichick.

That guy has been crossing the country with Pro Days for the last week.

Garrett?

Might as well put his face on a milk carton.

I think the Clapper is following Coach K around like a lost puppy:laugh:

I guess he is going to learn some more motivational stuff since he knows jack about Xs and Os.

I dont know if this is good or bad but I sure hate the idea of restructuring guys contracts because its just kicking money down the road and puts you in salary cap issues! Its one thing to restructure and bring in a stud player that will really help the team but its another to just sign a player for depth!

Truly sad to hear.

Hopefully the Cowboys make a fantastic 1st round pick to offset the sadness that comes with retiring such a fitting avatar.

:D

Tell you what, I'll "gift" it to you on that glorious day!
