Lance and Rush are unlikely to return. The word is that the Colts are going hard after Lance to compete for their starting job. Rush will have a solid market. We will def sign a vet and draft.

For me.........I like Winston or Justin Fields

Winston will command a larger salary than Rush. Hell even Fields may too.

Both may be temporary starters for teams trying to shield their young QBs.

If they are saying Rush is too expensive to re-sign, we need to set the sights way lower.

You could be right and I agree about Fields but not sure about Winston. His may take a hit after from the same issues with the Browns.
BTW .....who would you choose?

I'm skeptical it happens but one thing I will say about Winston is that he seems to want to go to a bigger market this year. It feels like he really wants to get some exposure and set up a broadcasting career. Dallas would certainly help him get there, although he might have to take less money now.

I agree........ he would jump at the chance to play for the Cowboys

 what round? Remember we don't have a 4th. So we either use a 2nd or 3rd OR we drop to a 5th rounder. Do you trust a 5th-rounder as your backup?
Oh I wouldnt be shocked at all to see a 2nd or 3rd rounder used on a QB. Yeah it seems unlikely they would go after a Sanders/Ward/Dart...although could you imagine Jerry if Shedeur Sanders dropped to them? I'd keep a close eye on those next couple tiers of players in Ewers, Milroe, Howard, McCord, Gabriel though. No reason to not start prepping for life after Dak at this point. Hes entering his age 32 season, shown signs of regression in 2024, and has the elevated injury risk label. I doubt they are going for another Ben Dinucci lottery ticket type selection at QB this year.

Honestly, hard to say. Just have to wonder how cheap they will go if Rush is off the list due to $.

I feel like the former 1st rounders will get more chances to show off, due to their former potential, or a certain trait-like arm strength.

Mike White got a 2 year 8mil deal in 2023, and he just had 2-3 decent games with the Jets.
and since then the cap has gone up a **** ton, leading to backup deals going up too
I could see them just rocking Grier for now, looking at the draft for #3 and then seeing who is left by camp if Grier and the rook really suck.

To be honest......I would love to draft Milroe and let him sit behind Dak for a couple of years and compete. O know many fans are down on him but he's better than we think IMO. I hear his IQ and leadership is off the chart.
He's a work in progress, no question about that but hard work and faith can carry you a long way.

I'm not against it at all. Honestly I like this QB class more than most....not so much at the top but I think there are some round 2-4 guys who have a ton of starting experience with some upside that should have pretty good floors as backups in this league. Milroe certainly has those freakishly good traits teams will be willing to gamble on. Unless a guy you love falls in your lap round 1 that you have a top 5 grade on I wouldn't hesitate to look at trade down opportunities in this draft to pick up that extra pick to grab one of these guys.
