No thanks.

Admittedly I didn't watch any Browns games last year, but I know Skrine was a hot mess in previous years. It's why CLE drafted Gilbert with a top 10 pick.

Even with Skrine's solid year last season, he was still a penalty machine (14 total). He was the 2nd most penalized CB in the league last season behind Brandon Browner.

The very little I've got to watch of Cleveland it seemed like the guy got called for an awful lot of penalties.

I know they won't. That was simply personal preference, and I don't care if his salary is fully guaranteed...he's a mentally weak player who has the potential to harm the chemistry of this young team than help it.

But, you're right. He will be on the roster this year because of the financials.

I happen to agree with you, about mo, however if this team allows morris claiborne to harm ANY identity or chemistry to who they are then they are just as weak. If anything, Mo is the one under the microscope by his teammates to step up.

Not a fan of this player whatsoever.

Bryant absolutely destroyed him when we last played the Browns.

He's always look like an undisciplined 'dog chasing cars' type player to me.

I want no part of him.

If we were to cut Carr, which I feel we won't, I would rather try to sign 'Peanut' Tillman to hold the fort until a draft pick is ready.

137th Overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, Buster Skrine is one of my former pet cats who hails from my dad's alma mater, Tennessee-Chattanooga. I wanted him pretty bad, especially because my dad was a standout CB for the Mocs in the late 70s/early 80s.

Well, looks like with Joe Haden and Justin Gilbert, the Browns can't afford to keep him. He's a sure tackler and a scrappy player. Very similar to Orlando Scandrick, and he's not afraid to try to hit a guy bigger than him. He has 6 career INTs in a few years.

Some rapport with defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, who drafted him for the Browns. I think there is a shot we could bring him in.

4 years, $24M. That is half of what Brandon Carr got. It also gives us proven talent and depth at the CB position and essentially washes out Morris Claiborne AND the need to draft another CB high in this draft, allowing us to focus more intently on the defensive front both this year and next year.

A starting 5 rotation of Scandrick, Carr, Skrine, Claiborne, and Moore/Patmon? Not too shabby if we can continue to fix our DT/DE situation.

For the record, if Skrine was in fact able to sign here, I would waive Claiborne in favor of keeping Tyler Patmon on the 53 and Sterling Moore, due to his age and experience.

What are your thoughts, CowboysZone?

You want to keep Carr and give Skrine 6m? Plus you have OScan, Moore, Patmon and probably Claiborne at some point. That is way too much money and players to throw at CB.

No thanks. Seen a few Browns games and it is enough to know that this guy isn't the answer.

Didnt Dez absolutely abuse him?

Who doesn't Dex Own. Dez is a freak and nobody can cover him one on one. Not even Sherman. Skrine, while I dont know anything about him, should not feel bad if Dez ate his lunch, Dez does that to everyone.

"Big Corner" is such an anomaly. Richard Sherman is a generational size/talent combination. We went 12-4 without a "big corner." People need to stop trying to find the next Richard Sherman, which again, is an anomaly.

Good teams always are trying to improve their team. You need big, strong and fast corners so teams are ALWAYS looking.

No, I reviewed that game (2012, week 11) and Skrine didn't give up that much to Dez.

Would rather have Kareem Jackson. He has played very well the past two years and may cost less the Skrine

I like Patmon's potential, too, but it's easier to look like a player when you hold.

I agree that Sterling Moore is a bit overrated on CZ. I liked him a lot when he was under the radar, but he pretty much is what he is out there. He can hold the fort, some of the time. That's about it.
