They said to themselves, "Can we get by with only three spots at OG?" and answered the question by saying, "Well, we could move Frederick to Guard and bring in Costa, and if one our tackles can slide inside to guard in an emergency we have two emergency options that can save a roster spot there. So, let's use this practice to see if Free can do the job."
So, 4 tackles,(Smith, Free, Parnell, Bell) 2 centers, (Frederick, Costa) 3 guards (Leary, Bernadeau, Arkin) = 9 total OL.

many sources over the last couple of years have said they do not think Free would be very good at guard. Guess the boys are looking anyway

I'm not sure what to think about this.
Arkin never looked like a disaster in games to me.
Free taking over the RG spot sounds like Defcon1.
I truly think Free is too "fragile"- every time they shift him or he has to focus on different techniques, it spells big trouble, not physically fragile.
Having said that- I'm getting more sure what to think about this- No sir, I don't like it.

I doubt Free can play OG well but how is it a disaster to take a look at him there? Was it a disaster when Tony Wise moved Kevin Gogan from RT to RG? A disaster when Wise moved Nate Newton from RG to RT? and then on to LG? I believe Landry moved Mark Tuinei from DT to all the OL spots other than center.
