Just go sign Waters already.
Just go sign Waters already.
Cool. Not sure what everyone's reacting negatively too. They're just looking at contingencies. Probably for a game day roster injury situation. Glad they take the time to do things like this.
My reaction is due to Free's need for perfect technique to get the job done. I have no problem with Parnell.
You've seen what Free becomes when he's not "in the groove" so to speak.
I simply believe confusing him with yet another position is not worth it.
I have already seen reports on this board that he's a slow learner and when he's not comfortable- he doesn't have the physical attributes to make up for it.
Maybe I'm wrong, but history points otherwise.
I'd actually share this concern if I thought this were anything more than an experiment. But I don't think it is.
This is a result of 2 things, Waters being dead, and watching game film.
But by all means don't worry, we have 2 weeks to put together a cohesive OL and if a injury happens on top of that, we're toast.
Valid point.
I'm not exactly freaking out over it.
I just don't like it.
Who knows? Maybe he takes to the RG spot like water in a glass.
I don't believe he has the natural strength for the position, but stranger things have happened.
Two weeks until the season starts and they have no clue who will be playing where on the OL and have come to the conclusion that their backups are not very good. Nothing to worry about!

Yes, this is a perfectly reasonable conclusion based on a one-practice experiment.
Give me a break. Smith-Leary-Fred-Mack-Free is a solid lineup. If Leary or Mack gets hurt, Arkin or Killer will fill in. If Fred gets hurts, Costa will step in. And if one of tackles gets hurt, Parnell will step in. And none of those scenarios represents us being "toast."
Clarence Hill @clarencehilljr
A few caveats to the Cows temporary oline moves are that Costa didn't have a good camp, no one trusts arkin and Parnell among top 5 lineman
In case you missed it
Um, how does that support your statement whatsoever?
I'm also confused by this -- he says no one trusts Parnell to start, yet they moved Free to guard to give Parnell first team reps?

He said no one trusts Parnell? I missed that. I see in that sentence that no one trusts Arkin- is that what you were referring to?
