With what the Cowboys were liable for against the cap with Carr, and what they would have been able to bring in for the same money, it would have made no sense to get rid of him.

I said it too against the roar of lynch Carr for under-performing crowd, why bother to cut him when it has almost no benefit. Everyone wanted to "make an example" out of him as they usually do, make emotional decisions. Glad someone in the Cowboys organization has a level head unlike in here.

Teams are generally a lot more reluctant to cut vets than fans are. In this case it's a good thing.

Yeah and I never understood why fans wanted Carr gone anyway. What money would've been freed up to cut him and what were we going to do with it? That never made any sense to me.

Was it last year or the year before where Carr lost his mother to cancer? Granted, all players i'm sure go through some things but that's a tough. Not using that as a excuse for Carr but I don't think its any coincidence how bad he looked at the beginning of the year and how solid he looked towards the end.

They were looking smart for not cutting Carr long before this. The team would have been worse had they cut him

I don't know what fans realistically expected from Carr when we had NO kind of pass rush the last few years and he's covering some of the best receivers in the league. Won't be too long before we see backlash against some of the younger guys because they aren't shutdown corners.

Carr did not prevent them from keeping Murray. And McFadden wasn't brought in as a Murray replacement. They wanted to go with a running back by committee and they valued their offensive line more than they did Murray.

Lol are they smart after everyone here wanted him gone? Or do we have psychics in the FO that saw this coming.

When you have the worst pass rush in the league every corner will look bad.
I don't judge any corner when they don't have a pass rush to help. And I don't judge any RB or QB when they don't have any blocking from the offensive line.

Fans get too involved with thinking they can manage the salary cap these days. The amount of post to cut Carr this offseason had to be in the 1000's.

The FO isn't as knee-jerked as fans. There was NO WAY the FO was going to cut Carr. Despite what fans think, you don't cut starting cornerbacks who contribute heavily to your team.

It was silly to even suggest he should be cut. But fans who think they're GMs are ready to get rid of every player who has a slump or whom they think does a bad job here and there.

But that's the difference between a fan and a real GM/coach/scout.
