Julius needs to wake up and figure out why he was on the sideline and not the field against the G-Men. A quick look in the mirror should give him all the answers to his questions.

Gonna disagree with you there.

We should have stuck to the 1-2 punch. We MESSED UP BIG TIME THERE.

I could have sworn that Jones said he had a chip on his shoulder before training camp last year, but I lack the necessary mental toughness to go find the article/link. ;)

He had a chip on his shoulder because he wanted to prove that Parcells had him running like a robot. Actually, his best games happened under Parcells watch. It's such a mystery that the potential he showed early on just disappeared.

I feel the same way. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Barber was awesome in the first half, but there was really no reason whatsoever to change the script in the most important game of the season.

He did but Roy ate it.

Yeah... by naming him the starter... it allowed the Giants to zero in on him... by the 2nd half it was over.....

By keeping it the way it was... we had the advantage of keeping them off balance...

I know what Julius can do, too.

Suck *** for a low 3 ypc and injure his offensive linemen's backs.

Julius could have staved off alot of his "embarassment" and "disgust" by not sucking so hard.

Good riddance.

Exactly... JJ had plenty of opportunities to carry the load... He just straight sucked at it...

Julius was never given the load like he was during his rookie year. At the beginning of 2005 he was and doing pretty well. But after his injury he never seemed to get the carries again because MB was doing so well. Looks like he will get that chance this year.

Julius always runs well when he has a chip on his shoulder. I also think that being in a west coast style offense that runs lots of draw plays is going to be beneficial for JJ. Most of his best runs were off the draw.

One thing that didn't materialize for JJ is that he seems to be a back that gains steam as a game wears on. He really didn't get a chance to show that because MBIII was so good.

I guess I can understand JJ's gripes. Our offense wasn't tailored to his style...rightly so this past season. Maybe Seattle will be a more successful venue for him.

Which JuJo will materialize? Pile-magnet or the first year Julius? He was already low on excuses but he will be out of them after this...

Blah.

On a bright-note. We shouldn't have to hear too much about him again after he bombs on his second team. Actually, strike-that. Drew Henson, anybody? Before even remotely proven, some fans sure like to latch onto fantasies where some players are concerned. Jones was one of them. And I'm sure the laden man-crushes will continue on for quite some time, for him, around here.

The Cowboys gave Julius plenty of opportunity to establish himself. He had no business starting the last 16 games. He was brutally bad in short yardage and goal line. He couldn't break tackles, and was at least competent at blocking.

He made the same type of speech when Parcells left about how he was utilized and vowed to show it last year, only he was worse than the year before. He was given the rope and he hung himself, plane and simple.

He has only himself to blame, not Parcells or anybody else. He just lost his explosiveness after his rookie campaign and has never been the same. Maybe he should look for it in the same place that Roy hides his hitting nowadays.

I'm sure if Julius breaks off one of his once a game 11 yard teaser runs on Thanksgiving, he'll bang his chest and say "Look at me". See ya on Turkey day JJ.

Jones if you played with the same fire as your words then you would still be here. To me it was like night and day between Barber and Jones and what each brought to the team. To me the offense seemed to have a spark when Barber would come into the games.

Who cares about Julius....he is gone.

Let's talk about Felix Jones or Choice. I can't wait to see how Garrett will use them this fall.

Its a runningback platoon league, and what RB gets several years all to himself to prove that he's an every down back? Unless you're a Top 5 pick, no one. Even Adrian Peterson has to split time with Chester Taylor. I don't buy for a second that "Julius never got an opportunity".

He actually does run really hard, just not effectively or efficiently. It's just kind of pointless to run really hard when you're just running really hard into a defender or up your offensive lineman's back. Julius was just limited when it came to vision and instincts. If he goes to a one cut offense like Seattle's, he's probably not going to be a bad back.

what I find funny is that he thinks getting sat down for a better back is some how being put through an embarrassment

sure it's embarrassing, but it's self-inflicted and can be solved quite simply

run better

I hope he found his motivation this time, except when playing us, no, check that, I don't, just felt like being nice

Correct, 100%.
