Yep. That scene played out a LOT between my wife and me early in our relationship. I eventually worn her down though. Five years after we met.

She may not have been completely oblivious. There could be a rational explanation here...

• She was so exhausted running that her reflexes were extremely slow
• Macular degeneration blocked out the arm
• A squirrel caught her attention in the corner of her eye
• She had not adjusted to her trifocal contact lenses yet

How do seahorses even survive? Do they have any natural defenses? They look like nothing but food for other fish...unless they just taste really bad.

I just looked it up, and apparently they can change color to blend in with their surroundings, but that's about it for defenses. I'm surprised they haven't gone extinct.
