I wonder if there is a way of electrifying both the bottom half of the pole and the baffle without harming the birds?

It may sound extreme but I do have issues with long bushy tailed rats.

They are the same. It is just that I have wanted to inject squirrels with triple doses of caffeine so their funny antics would end in spontaneous combustion.

I agree, unless they park way out in an empty area of the parking lot. I do understand that there are a lot of inconsiderate people who don't care if they scratch or dent someone else's car.
