Furboy 2021 mock draft 2.0 with a trade

There is talent on defence as my mock draft shows. Guys like Surtain, Zaven Collins, Farley, Tufele, both LBers that I took in my mock draft, Moehrig, Washington, Bynum, Slaton, and even Damar and Gowan are great examples of players that are solid choices in this draft that can fix our defence.

Yup, and there are plenty more. I get that this is a passing league, but we have to have some semblance of a defence. Otherwise, what's the point of even playing our defencive players? We may as well just not put anyone out there on defence if that's the case. Not like it'd make any difference.

Exactly, and that's what this mock draft does.

Well, that probably puts Surtain with us at that spot which isn't the worst thing in the world either. Surtain's a good CB as well.

Its going to be real interesting to see what his 40 will be at his Pro Day. If he runs 4.58 or worse he will fall even though he plays faster on the field. The good thing for him is that he will do that 40 at his place and not the Combine. Times are always faster at their pro days. If he can pull off a 4.4 he should be ok. I love me some Surtain and he is always around the ball has great instinct.

This may be a terrible draft for some defensive positions but there are good CB, LB prospects
And safety is not as bad as some think
Not the best draft for a stud DT

Yeah, but there are some excellent DT prospects nonetheless.

I don’t think there is a top 10 worthy guy to me
We need lots of help but I think round 2 is a great spot for safety or DT
I read a lot about different position and what rounds tend to produce players good enough to start the majority of their first contract
The 3rd produces some good quality LB fairly regular
So that might be a good spot for a LB
Much will be determined by FA
DT is a position that’s hard to draft
Many don’t produce to match their draft spot
Those positions like that are where I’d look in FA
A quality DT is expensive but I’d rather sign two good quality FA and fill out the roster with rookies and UDFA than sign 10 FA and 9 do nothing to help you
That’s kinda what we did last year

Well, I don't expect us to be major players in FA. For me with the draft, I'd love a trade down so we can get Moehrig.
